Uptdates Cinema List

Just wanted to update this list. I have added dates, if its Italic then the movie haven't gone up on the Swedish cinema site SF (but shows on IMDB).

Saw now that The Raven will preemie 20th April in Sweden. And it will be a double cinema visit cause The Avengers and The Woman in Black both preemies on the 27th April. I have removed World War Z and Django Unchained since they are now slated for 2013.

Top 50 bands list

When I was writing about my relations to records, I wrote something about a top list of bands/artists. Well I just wanted to share this cause, somebody just might be interested. It's copied from my Last Fm where you can see total srobbles since 2008. Just a couple of notes:

- I can change the position of artists/bands. Somebody might even drop out cause I find a new band that's so great that after a while I want them up their. And another band I might get a bit tired of. I'm really happy about my current list so I think it will stay like this for a long while.

- The list is not in the right order right know. I need to listen to some bands more to get them higher up. The first 20 bands are pretty much sat in stone, then it gets more complicated.

- I have listen to more songs that what Last Fm show. I have probably listen to Led Zeppelin songs for like... 15.000 scrobbles? I discovered them 5 years before Last Fm. But they are no longer my absolute favorite band, but still holds a special place in my heart, just like The Who and Pink Floyd does.

The Dragon Slayers - Escape from Sembia

Yes this will be a new part of the blog, where I while write down in short about my Dungeons and Dragons campaign called "The Dragon Slayers". Yes I wanted the most freaking cheesy name ever for the campaign, because I... wanted it? Anyway, it's a pretty free campaign where its adventure for adventure, they are not that tied in together. I am so tired of role playing groups where your supposed to be engaged in a big campaign that will take you through lvl 1-30, a feat that will take years to achieve. The longest group I have played with was actually a bit over a year, but we changed player SO many times that in the end it was just me and another guy from the original group. When he left, I also quit because it just got silly then. And when the GM still wanted to play that campaign... well I haven't played with him since then.

So The Dragon Slayers will be more focused on playing with a large group of potential players, people that might only play once a while. The characters will still progressively level up trough the course of time, since I will raise the challenge. In the beginning I will take it easy, learn the system, create a backdrop for the characters to move and interact with, and see what people wanna do. It's like a tv show, episode of the week. And the first players who wanna play, they play! I will probably have some recurring elements if they have getting them some powerful allies and enemies.

I have set it in Forgotten Realms, because it's nice to have a already created world that I really love. Big fan of the PC games set in FR. I will send the players all over the continent of Faerun and play some of the already written adventures. And create my own stuff ofc! It's a campaign where I really want to do what I feel like, if I find a cool adventure that might be to easy or hard for the players at the time, I can just redo all the encounters. I have wanted to GM DnD 4 for years and heres my chance!

So I will write in short whats happening in the campaign. I won't spoil that much about each character and everything they saying cause that wouldn't be that fun to read I think.

Episode 1 - Escape from Sembia.

First a little about the players:

- Paelias, Eldarin Wizard (my SLP that I will use sometimes to get the story moving on)
- Havrakhad, Kalshtar Battlemind
- Dak, Githzerai Bard
- Frost, Longtooth Shifter Seeker
- Perrin, Halfling Rouge
- Ulmo, Halfling Fighter (a one time player)

They all had different goals, but somehow they enter Saloone, the capital of Sembia. Some of wanderlust, to discover the world. Maybe someone was running away from a dark past. Perrin and Ulmo who already lived in Saloone just wanted to have a good time and they entered The Hawkeagle, the cities most popular tavern for travelers. Everybody saw it, that peace of paper that was nailed on the board directly to the right of the entrance. It said "Hello xxx (whatever the name of the character was). If your interested in xxx (whatever the character most urged at the time), say the following line to the bartender, "It's my biggest dream, owning the pleasure". A very strange line, but they all asked the bartender about that. And they all received a package of 20 gold and a letter detailing the fastest rout to the little town of Stonevillage, a half days march from the capital.

Everybody traveled there in their own way, but arrived not to far ahead or late. They gathered at the village only tavern The Prancing Cone. Havrakhad and Dak traveled by the road, Frost took a shorter path trough the forest. Perrin and Ulmo got the information in the evening, and thought about getting there the next morning. But a wizard aproached and offered them a teleportation service for free since he was heading there.

At the tavern, they looked for a Eldarin, which they could spot sitting alone at a table. The Githzerai arrived first, taking his own table to sit down and scan his surroundings. The halflings arrived second and directly headed to the table where the Eldarin sat. He looks at them and just shakes his head. "Is this the best I could get" he says with a very irritated and ample voice. The other characters arrivies not long after and when the Eldarin see the last one taking a chair, he speaks:

"I wish you welcome. You have all seen the ad and taking the golden purse with the directions here. That all shows that you are willing to take on a little mission. Over at that house (he nods at a house across the street), we will meet up with a contact that I need for opening this (he shows everyone at the table a scroll). I might need help getting out from the village if something bad would happen, and I will reward you with a standard price of 30 gold if nothing goes wrong. Should it... well then at least I will double the money. Now I wonder, who are you and what can you help out with?"

Everybody speaks up. The Eldarin doesn't really give any intrest in the halflings, feeling offended they are about to take their leave. But the Eldarin convinces them quickly to aid since he spots a couple of guard heading towards their contact who just entered out from his house. They head over to them, and it looks like they are accusing the contact for being a rebel against the Netheril rule. The Eldarin quickly realize that this can't end well and ignites the first battle cause they can't take away the contact.

During the battle, three of the characters spots an shady man walking towards them from further down the street. He puts up a short blade and walks even faster towards them, seems to aim at the contact who hides behind a fruit chart. With some arrows, shuriken and sling shots, the assassin runs away. The guards are finally beaten and the Eldarin asks the contact about the scroll. The contact answers that he can maybe read it, but not open it. He knows someone in the remote town of Loudwater that probably open it so they have to escort him there. They now have to escape the town with a bunch of guards after them.

Out of the town and have shaken of the guards, they decides to take a path towards the farms. They come across a burnt down mill where a couple of Hobgoblins have raided. The Githzerai known as Dak heads toward them with Havrakhad, but they realize that they are to many to take out by themselves and tries to head back. They get spotted by an archer who directly fires a shot that hits Dak, and the second fight begins. The hobgoblins have a wizard type of leader that really hurts Dak, but gets knocked out by first getting hit by a Phantom Bolt, then a sling bullet! The fighters are a bit more stubborn but finally gets beaten.

After some looting, the party head towards the Thunder Peaks. They take a longer but safer path, until the Eldarin feels a dark energy further up the road. The halflings scouts the area, which seems to be an old battle ground. They are greeted by the assassin from before who now reviles himself as a Shade. He stabs and kills Ulmo, and the final encounter starts. It's over pretty soon cause when the Shade gets killed, all the skeletons he had raised drops down dead again. After a short loot session and burial of Ulmo, they travel into Cormyr for a rest.

At the tavern their staying at, the Eldarin finally presents himself as Paelias. He had tested the group and everybody passed to be captains in his now created adventure guild called "The Dragon Slayers". They will get a house in Loudwater and start making money by aiding people who need them. When they have gathered enough, they will move into a better location. What they are going to do with the rest of the money, Paelias doesn't speak of. Everybody agrees and know the The Dragon Slayers are established.

Yoikais Annual Meeting 2012

So today was a day I have waited for a couple of weeks. Finally it was time for Yoikais annual meeting. To get a new board, deciding what activities where going to do during the year and just kick start everything!

I was pleasantly glad with the new board. Well I can't 100% guarantee that it will be the best one around since theirs some new faces that haven't showed us what they can do. But I have faith in them that they will do their best and add a lot of new elements to the club. We needed more people that was interested in east Asian culture and that's what we got.

Were going to have the constitutional meeting tomorrow, and then it's finally time do decide who will get responsibilities in a lot of different areas! I hope that now when we are two more in the board, we can get a even better breakdown of the responsibilities. I still wanna be in charge of the homesite and the relationship with Studiefrämjandet. Well the rest... well see.

Now I just hope for a real fun year with the club. 2011 was really great and I think it will become even greater this year. Let hope that our big question marks, to start working with our municipality and get a own local will be more than dreams!

Records Relation

Today I'm gonna talk about my relationship into buying records... yeah that stuff that people doesn't do anymore. You can hear the dying sounds of the record industry right? Hearing it cry for mercy, and to secure itself it's gonna get some nasty anti piracy laws to do it's biddings and OF COURSE people are going to buy records again right?

Alright, this wasn't supposed to be a rant about the record industry and how mad you can get at them trying to do everything to get people bying cds again. It's a dying format, nowadays it's all on the internet in MP3 format. Sad if you ask me cause I just love having records in my shelf, it looks so nice with a collection...

Now I'm getting ahead of myself. Well, lets start back... somewhere in time! During my first... 16-17 years, I didn't really had that many cds. I got something sometime from a relative at my birthday or christmas, always those greatest hits cds of whatever was popular back then. One period I was hooked on Swedish pop music like GES, Tomas Ledin and such. It isn't my most treasured memories, but still that lead me to know much Swedish music, knowledge always good to know when your doing a quiz!

I also had a short period liking Depeche Mode, then Manic Street Preachers. Still it was that it had pop influences, nowhere near the hard rock or metal that I listen to today. But I still bought myself those albums (don't remember the names) of what new album was out when I discovered the bands.
I didn't like them that long.

My own intrest in gettign a collection of cds came when I discovered rock, then hard rock then finaly metal when I got the Pink Floyd GH record back in 2001. Thanks to them I wanted to dive deeper into rock, and bought (what I can remember) a Deep Purple and The Doors GH.

But when I bought the first Greatest Hits of Led Zeppelin (they had just released two different GH collections called Early and Later Years) that I finally realized that "man, I want to own every Led Zeppelin album, theirs gotta be so many more great songs that aren't on the GH albums". I had to wait a little while and buying the cds in pack of 3, but after 3-4 shopping moments on the internet (I discovered the Swedish shopping sites Ginza.se and CDON.com thanks for my search after the best prizes on albums) I had them all!

I also bought some other records at the same time, whenever a site had a pricedrop or you found a sale at a record store. When I got more money for studying, the more records I bought. At most I think I had around 250 cds. I have also soled of an traded whenever I got tired of a band, and then I decided I only wanted cds of my top 50 bands... a list I have constantly changed during the years (might post
my newest one in the future).

But today, I almost don't own any cds at all, except for Dream Theater ones (gonna catch them all!). During 2011 I sold all of or traded them for LPs, of different reasons. I needed urgent money to afford my cats operation, and then I just got tired of collecting something I haven't listen to for many years. Yeah I bought cds in the end only for collection sake, not using them in my cd player at all. Cause I had discovered MP3! I can honestly say that yes I have downloaded much since... 2003? First it was Napster, when they closed down I started with DC++ and now it'sBittorrent. I have done it for two main reasons:

1. Discover new music. I have discovered SO many great bands thanks to downloading. Many times a single or a couple of videos on youtube can't statisfy my urge to listen to more music of a band, and don't give you the full picture of their songs. If I like a band, I will support them later by bying stuff. It also have saved me tons of money by not invest in many records that I had done away with after awhile. I listen now to currently 211 bands (according to Last FM) and I have listen to like... over 1000 bands during the years.

2. Last FM

Last FM entered my life in Jan 2008 (more than 4 years ago, holy smoly) and I have been a scrobble freak since then. I always wanna play music at my computer to get more scrobbles so people can see what music I listen to and enjoy. I bought a Ipod just cause it could scrobble. It was the final fact that I could scrobble with a Iphone that made me get one (I know have 4S, best phone I ever got). Heck I even got a app here on the blog that shows what I'm listening to via Last Fm, CAN YOU SEE WHAT IT MEANS TO ME?

So how can I support bands by not buying cds or download MP3s from like Itunes? Well...

- Vinyl/LP

I started to collect LPs back in... 2005 I think. My parents gave me their record player when I moved to Karlstad and I had got my intrest up in starting a LP collection. I soon discovered that the sound was WAY better than on cd/mp3 and it's kinda status to have a LP collection. But I did the same mistakes as with the CD's, I bought but never listen to the records. I went against my own principals that I never collect without using, if I can't use it I don't collect (That kinda pissed people of when I use for example my original Suikoden 1 game to play).

At last I sold of the LP collection for much less money that it was worth. I just wanted to get rid of it and MAN I really blame myself today for making that decision. I had some really cool lps, like every Led Zeppelin album in kinda good conditions. Got much of The Who too. And both Pink Floyds
"Dark Side of The Moon" and "The Wall" in almost mint condition, man!

Around 2010 I started to collect LPs again. I saw my own decline in buying cds and longed for LPs again, they are just that superior in both sound and looks much cooler. Yeah they take their space but still I just love them. I'm also glad that artist have gotten a bigger intrest in selling LPs so many of my favorite artists are releasing their albums on both cd and vinyl. Glad that Dream Theater is one of those bands!

- Live Blurays

Yeah I have had some live dvds, but since I have also selled all my dvds during 2009 (I decided then to switch over to bluray when I got my PS3). I haven't that many music Blurays yet. I only have Dream Theaters Live at Budokan, Rush Snakes and Arrows Live and The Who Live At The Kilburn.
But since the audio and video are so supreme, I really intend to buy more.

The sad thing is that theirs SO many shows that probably won't get a Bluray release during the next couple of years, cause it's still expensive to do a Bluray release and DVD cost almost nothing today. But that just gets me more timeto buy them I hope!

- Concerts

I just love going to concerts. To see my favorite bands play live, wow! I have been to many concerts since 2007 and seen bands I never thought I would see. My first real experience was The Who 2006, man I hope I will get to see them again before Daltrey or Townshend throws in the towel. Not only do you get great main acts, but sometimes a great band opens or supports. That's a great way in seeing 2-3 bands that you really want to.

Downside might be the price, both Iron Maiden and AC/DC cost me like 6-700 SEK per ticket. But it was worth the money, and I want to see both bands again. I want to see my favorite bands at least two times If I got the chance. Still pissed that I didn't go to Sweden Rock Festival 2010 and saw Fates Warning live, that was probably my only chance seeing them here in Europe (yeah I need to
have some money left for everything else I'm doing).

- Offical Merchandise

You can never go wrong with a nice tshirt with your favorite bands logo on it right? I have soon like... 40 artist tshirts? Like 7-8 of them are Dream Theater. I get at least one tshirt at a concert if I can afford them, sometimes I have to get a bootleg tshirt (and then I don't support the artist, but at least showing that I like the band).

I don't buy that much else in Merch way if it isn't DreamTheater related. Oh yes I got a Led Zeppelin cap a couple of years ago! Also got a couple of posters. That's about it.

Upcoming Movies 2012

Today I have done something I almost never do, watching movie trailers. I don't like the idea to spoil stuff for myself and trailers ALWAYS spoil cool stuff. But then, you also miss out a great number of movies that could be worth watching. So I have watched a bunch of trailers of movies that will be released in Cinemas this year.

Notice that in Sweden, we don't show all of those movies. Were still a small country that doesn't show some movies, and sometimes I just wonder why? I got so pissed of when they didn't show The Thing prequel which was great! Anyway, I will first list the trailers of movies that I will try to see on the big screen if they will be shown over here. And then we have movies that I will watch some other way!

Was out to find a new Winter jacket yesterday since my old one gave up after 10 years of service. R.I.P! Now I found more stuff than just the jacket.... like an coat that I got first! But I'm not into showing of my clothes if it's not something nerdy related. But I also found two cool paintings (alright more like photos but still), and a great book!

Also got the kinda rare Xbox 360 Game Tales of Vesperia in the mail, finally a Swedish internet store had it in stock! And yesterday I also got myself new headphones since the last one I bought showed to be kinda crappy after a little while. I bought these one for like 99 SEK but they are still pretty damn good for their low price (and miles better than the once I used before).

The Spirit Carries On

So today I was just walking to work when Dream Theaters "The Spirit Carries On" was playing. I got really invested in the song that I haven't been for a long while. Alright, the concert last week when they actually played the song (and dedicated it to Jordan Rudess mother who passed away just days before the show) maybe had something to do with it. But I remembered that this was the first Dream Theater song that I actually fell in love with, in a way you just feel about a special song. I just love that special Pink Floydian vibes, the wonderful lyrics and man LaBrie really sings so nice!

Then I just decided that "man, I need to get this one played on my funeral. An not as a cd-track, no I want a full band to play it". And so I just thought... what songs would I finally want to be played on my funeral? No people, I don't intend to die tomorrow or for at least 40 years. But life is unpredictable, I can die tomorrow, or when 40 years have passed... or shorter, or longer. So I just wanted to share my thoughts about this, just as a fun fact!

Firstly, I want Led Zeppelins "Stairway to Heaven" to be played. Yes I know it's freaking standard song as hell but, man that was the song I thought was the best song ever to have been written. This song can just be played as a audio-track, cause I don't think a cover band can do it justice.

After the first one as a little tribute concert to me for being... um... I don't know... me? I want a band playing two Dream Theaters songs that I really thought would fit with a funeral. First we have The Best of Times from BCASL. It's way too long for a funeral so it has to be much shorter, but theirs a lot of parts you can cut out. If I have kids then, they MUST sing cause it's a father and son related song!

And lastly the song I already have talked about... well... that's a moody post right? Well at least there are three good songs to listen to! Now I will add more photos to the blog!

Cinema Review: Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Genre: Action/Thriller
Director: Briand Bird
Actors: Tom Cruise, Michael Nyqvist

So it's a new Mission Impossible movie, the forth in the series. It's been in the works for a couple of years and finally it arrives on the big screen. It's been six years since MI:3 and does the world need another one of Ethans (Tom Cruise characters) adventures in a modern spy world setting? After seeing the movie I can nod and say that this was a great and thrilling action packed movie!

Ethan and his new crew gets compromised doing a mission in Russia, and all of IMF (the agency he works for) have been declared as non existing (hence Ghost Protocol). They have to act on their own to stop a mad SWEDISH terrorist (for once) who wants to start a nuclear war and end all life on the planet.

It seems like the worlds simplistic plot, and yes it basically is. But the story is just a backdrop for showing of Tom Cruise and co doing some really great action scenes. It doesn't to be more complicated to entertain and they had really done it well. I had hoped for a bit more developing story, like that other American organizations like the CIA would have tried to hunt down his team.

And Nyqvists villain could have been more developed as well. Although I really liked his character (well um, he plays a freaking Swedish madman and I just LOVED that), I had hoped to see him a bit more in the movie and try to be a bigger threat to Ethan. But I guess they did that type of villain already in MI:3. At least you here him speaking Swedish in a newscast clip!

What I was hoping for really was good action scenes, and they went over my expectations! The opening scenes at a Russian prison where a good riot, then It cuts to an thrilling infiltration of the Kreml. The highlight of the movie is of course when Ethan has to climb the outside of the worlds largest hotel in Dubai. The scene where he has to jump back into their apartment... man I REALLY think my heart stopped there. It was so freaking well made. All action scenes where fantastic and felt somewhat realistic. When somebody got hurt, you really got the feeling that the character was in pain!

For the supporting cast, they where alright. Many have complained about Simon Peggs charterer being a comic relief only, but haven't people noticed that he's not a clumsy one? He just like the other in Ethans crew just doesn't screw up things, it's just fate (or the manuscript) who messes with their operation. And that happens mostly when your not expecting it, that was also something I really liked about this movie!

This is probably the best movie in the series! It's much more action oriented like the second movie, which is my favorite after this. Maybe we will see another MI movie in the future, I will probably watch it if it's anywhere near this one!

Back in Trollhättan

I have been spending my time in Trollhättan this weekend. I was visiting a friend I haven't seen since July together with another friend, and man that was SO much joy! To see him for a time that seems like a eternity, wow! We played a lot of music games (Guitar Hero to be more exact), went to a shopping mall with the strangest toilets ever (see the pic further down) and watching Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on Cinema.

And we had some LATE christmas gift switch ofc! I got candy and the first Nostalgia Critic DVD, which was freaking awesome!

I am very pleased with my visit down there, and I have had a FANTASTIC week overall! I'm so glad that it's been really great. Now it's a new week with work, writing a new contract on the apartment (FINALLY), start to GM in Dungeons and Dragons and Yoikais annual meeting!

Movie Review - The Millenium Trilogy

So after almost three years I have finally seen the Millenium trilogy, based on Stieg Larssons books. They have been praised all over the world and is the highest grossing Swedish movie trilogy in movie history.

I have wanted to see the movies for quite some time, but never got myself into actually watch them. But now I finally did it and I can say that they was way better than I could have foreseen. I'm going to review the movies individual, but I can say that in a whole, I also think that this movie trilogy is the best Sweden have ever offered the world!

The movies don't really feel Swedish at all because of some factors:

- I have seen a lot of Swedish police thrillers over the years and they always have a common pattern, they become so predictable that it's just feels silly. But what all Millenium movies have in common that I really enjoy is that the movies always gives you a clue at a time, that you really can't guess your way beforehand. People might say that it should be the other way around, that the audience always should have a chance to guess way ahead who the killer actually is. But not here, and I love how they have done it.

- Another problem I have with Swedish movies is that I never can take Swedish dialog seriously. I always find it silly, and actors always overreacts or can't have emotions at all in a scene where they really should. But there was only like 1-2 scenes in either movie that I found some dialog silly. And there was never any unnecessary dialog, that can ruin a whole movie for me.

- The action scenes, yeah they are few but really well done. Great editing and you really feel the punches hitting and when people get hurt, you can almost feel their pain. I was really into the fighting scene in movie no 2 when Swedish pro boxer Paolo Roberto gets to kick some ass!

- Every movie can be viewed as it's own and still have the connection between each other. It might be a bit confusing watching the third without seeing the second movie because they are more directly linked. But they can still be watched on their own. The first movie is a more traditional murder mystery case, the second about a criminal organization and in the third it escalates into an political scheme. Had you just taken away the main characters and scenes, they could have been three total individual movies!

1. Män Som Hatar Kvinnor (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo)

The first, longest and developing movie. I say developing cause you get to know the two main protagonist Lisbeth Salander (played by Noomi Rapace) and Michael Blomkvist (Mikael Nyqvist). Blomkvist owns a paper called Millenium (hence the title of the whole series), but after a framed scandal he has to go underground for a while. He gets contacted by an attorney that works for the big financial group Vagner. He gets involved in an 40 year old murder mystery that evolves into something much bigger.

Lisbeth gets involved herself when they need someone that could trace back documents way back. She's a great Researcher and with her pal nicknamed Plague, they can hack into almost everything to get the information they need. One of the big things with this movie are the rape scenes where Lisbeth gets abused by her Guardian, and I actually had a hard time watching those scenes (and wanted to cut of my mustache). They weren't that metaphorical but still it was pretty damn harsh. But the payback scene are even better!

Now that I have seen all the three movies (of the course of 2 days), I can say that I thought this movie was my least favorite. But that's not saying that this was a bad movie or anything. It was a little bit slower but had better photo and dialog over all. And I really love the setting, Swedish archipelago in winter times have a very special feeling.

The story itself was very interesting and how it evolved. The next two movies are linked directly to each other but theirs some clever scenes and flashbacks in this movie that wont get fully explained until the next two movies!

2. Flickan Som Lekte Med Elden (The Girl Who Played With Fire)

Some time have passed since the events in the first Movie. Lisbeth have traveled over the world for over a year, financed by an heritage from her dead mother. She also gets a new flat in Stockholm. Blomkvist has a new journalist that together with his girlfriend have done a work on human trafficking in Sweden. In this article is a list of names of people that have been doing this kind of criminal activities in the Swedish criminal world.

They both gets murdered, along with the Guardian that raped Salender during the first movie. Everything gets linked to Lisbeth, who must hide underground and try to find who really murder them. Blomkvist are sure that Lisbeth isn't the killer and tries to help from his side.

Of all the three movies I find this one the best. The story is more fast paced and never slows down. The movie really surprised me more than one time when it took turns I couldn't ever have foreseen, when the bigger plot points where reveled I got pleasantly surprised how they did it. And the finale was really well made.

As I said before, there was an action scene in a barn between swedish boxer Paolo Robeto and a thug that really can't feel any pain. That must be one of the best action scenes in Swedish history, cause it was so good edited. I almost wished it was a bit longer, but that just me loving action. I hope whoever choreographed that scene will make more action scenes cause Sweden need them!

3. Luftslottet Som Sprängdes (The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet Nest)

The third and final movie begins with a short recap of the ending in The Girl Who Played With Fire, what happens to Lisbeth, her father and half brother directly after the great ending of movie 2. Lisbeth gets into a hospital and are now not framed for the murders of the three in the last movie, but is now accused for trying to murder her father. This is just the top of the iceberg, a hidden group of people assassinates her father and the case becomes even more strange. Who are they? What are their goal? What do they have in common with Lisbeth and wants to frame her? Together with Blomkvist they try to solve what seems to be a political conspiracy that started back in the 70's.

This is the thrilling conclusion and the whole series end really well. I love conspiracy theories and this movie doesn't disappoint in that area. They aren't that common in Swedish movies and I get really interested when it's done well like in this movie when it's not too over the top.

When you think that the climax have been reached already, you get a final confrontation between Lisbeth and her half brother. It's a great scene that might feel out of place if you where content with the ending of the conspiracy part of the movie, but I just enjoyed it.

Still here there was some scenes that dragged out which makes the second movie my favorite of the three, but The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet Nest is very close!

Bazookas, Owles and Meat

Been a pleasant weekend with yesterday being a really nerdy day with a Local LAN at my house. On Friday evening my oldest friend Peter or TheManko as he is called on the Internet (hosting a webradio show and Podcast) came to visit. We saw the movie Warriors of the Wastelands, a Mad Max copy from Italy. It was quite entertaining actually, especially when you have the Rifftrax gang to back you up in the slower parts of the movie. Didn't get to see my giant monster movie so I will have to save that for later!

Then yesterday we started to play around 2 PM, and finished around 3.30 AM. We played the following LAN games:

- Medal of Honor (as usual we started with the Stalingrad map with only Bazookas, you can't stop with traditions!)
- Star Wars Jedi Outcast
- Battlefield Vietnam (it was really fun with 9 Players and a couple of bots)
- Killing Floor
- Age of Empires II

There were many funny moments during the sessions, my favorite was probably when I got revenge on my squad in Killing Floor when they first locked me out during the first wave and got me killed. Then later on the 5th wave I was the first one at the church building where we were stationed during the session and locked the squad out. They got killed REALLY fast and I got killed not long after that, but man that was just sweet!

We ate some really good steak with rice that we all pitched in for. Got a bit late for dinner so I was REALLY starving the last hour and lost all concentration to play games. But it was worth the wait, great food!

And of course me and my friends just HAD to quote the famous Swedish youtube clip "Ugglor i Mossen" the whole freaking evening. When you start, you just can't stop. It got really hilarious around 2 PM when I got REALLY tired but wanted to play a last session of Killing Floor while the other had to finish up their Age of Empire II session. Was way to tired for RTS games!

So now I'm gonna go and wake Peter up, eating breakfast and then were heading to Stockholm. I'm gonna stay at my parents house until Thursday, it's Dream Theater on Wednesday. Probably gonna shoot my Vlog over there since I didn't got the time to do it this week, and maybe invade the Science Fiction Bokhandeln and see what new nerdy stuff they have.

No Sharks or octopusses

Up early, cause it's soon time to take the bus and go swimming. Yes this week I have started with my "Beach 2012 Project"... alright not really, but I have talked before about do some physical excises so my body wont break down. Maybe it's a year or two later than I should but what the hell, I'm there now at least!

Took my first swim this monday and I got a pretty good experience, met a friend in the pool and we decided that we should start doing this together to motivate each other. Gonna swim like 45-50 min three days a week, probably Mondays (18-19 because it's adult swim only then), Wednesdays and Fridays between 7-8.

I think 2012 will be an heck of a Cinema year, there are so many great movies that will have premiere and that I really want to watch on the big screen. And so I have complied this little list of movies that I'm actually are going to watch in cinemas. There are of course other interesting movies, but they wouldn't be worth the money seeing them.

How to milk a franchise - Twilight

I almost chocked to death yesterday when I was reading a newspaper at MAX (Swedish hamburger franchise) that Hollywood wants to make more Twilight movies, even if the series should have ended with the last Breaking Dawn book and movies. To quote the article itself "why stop making movies in a series that have spanned over five billion dollars". That my friend is the sole explanation you need that Hollywood only wants to milk every single penny out of you with just safe investments that really can bring them a big bag of cash!

I know it's really outdated to complain about Twilight, it has millions of fans and if Hollywood wants to make more movies, neither mine our yours voice will have anything to say about it. I never jump my criticism on the series to blame fames for being in love with it, I respect that. But I still want to give you guys and girls my thoughts about the movies at least.

Hands down, I really despise the Twilight movie series. I haven't read the books and I probably never will cause I don't have interest in doing so, hence I won't complain about them. I guess that there is some facts that so many love them, but for me they are just cliched love stories and make Vampires into freaking pussys.

You already know about all the facts that makes them so freaking hard to watch (Bella being the most manipulative bitch ever, vampires shouldn't spark and why nobody likes shirts). But what many seems to miss and not complain about are these two factors that really pisses me of:

1. The pacing

All of the movies are sooooo painful to watch because they are so freaking slow-moving forward. An hour feels like two because they drag out scenes WAY TO LONG and trying to get us invested in the characters or scenes when we just want to see what will happen next. I almost miss all the editing that Tony Scott have mastered.

2. The dialog

Many haven't noticed this, but almost every dialog scene is spoken with a short pause in the middle of sentences. Bella is far the worst of them and sometimes I just can't tell if that's intentional or that the actor just can't speak correctly. It annoyed the hell out of me in both the first and second movie. It wasn't that common in the third, but that movie is just silly ass hell in it own way.

The only sole reason I actually still watches the Twilight movies are that Rifftrax makes the best freaking parodies ever of them. I can't wait till Breaking Dawn Part 1! I finish this short Twilight bashing post with a best of clip from the tube:

To Lazy to rewrite, To old to die

Got some late thoughts here... alright it's not THAT late but man I'm freaking tired. I thought about repost everything that I wrote in Swedish back in 2009-11. That's over 89 posts but I'm kinda interested in showing the world what have happen I'm my nerd life back then.

The problem is, it will take a while to translate and repost every single post. So I'm thinking to got the easy way around and just use google translate. I am very aware that it doesn't grammatically does the best work, but that will still save me a lot of time. You have to live with it being a bit strange to read, and I will manually fix the strangest sentences and such if it just seems all way off.

I don't know when I will start doing this, probably sooner than later an evening or something where I got nothing better to do. Or maybe next week when I will be at my parents house in Stockholm until thursday, you never know what strange things might happen to the blog then!

Intresting games 2012

So I was over to IGN earlier today and browsed through their game release list of 2012. Not that much is hinted now and their arent that many intresting games that I'm looking forward too that has actual release dates. But let's take a look at the games I'm intrested in:

Note that this list is for the american market, games will be relsead on the same day or later (in rare cases sooner) than in USA. Many of the games will be released through different consoles so I have listed the version I'm gonna get! Not probably gonna get any of the games except for 1-2 on the actual release day either, I rather wait for sales! New Godzilla Movie

Today I read on Facebook that a new Godzilla movie is in the making. Theirs not that much information about it at the moment, more than it will be a American reboot and have nothing to do with either the Japanese series or a sequel to the 1998 lackluster movie directed by Roland Emmerich. I am thankful that he has NOTHING to do with this project.

The Movie will be directed by Gareth Edwards, the man who directed the 10.000 dollar movie Monsters, for me a sleeper hit because it was much better that I thought. So I really wonder how he could do a monster movie with millions of dollar to play around with. But I really hope that they get the CGI right for this movie. AND PLEASE DON'T MAKE IT INTO A PG-13 FLICK! I really want to see violent action this time, but I think Edwards can fix that! He has also promised that the movie will be very different from the 1998 movie, and that is just promising!

Also wanna share this concept art I found on Wiki, man that pic alone just get me the hype that this will actually be a good monster movie!

Oh I forgot to mention, today I started with my swimming project. I wanna do some physical exercise to loose some weight and well I thought swimming would fit me perfectly. To move almost the whole body at the same time and it just fun being in water. I went to swim school and was pretty good back in the days expect for being a bit cheating with hitting my legs on the swimming pool floor.

So well I swam for like 50 min, then of to shower and sauna. I met a friend there who started swim last week so we decided to start swim every Monday evening (adults only) and on Thursday mornings around 7 am. Were gonna swim for like 45-50 minutes. That will be really great! Hope we just don't get to swim with those freaking persons who think they own the pool, like we did today.

I am just afraid that my body will kill me tomorrow cause I didn't stretch... but well that's a problem for tomorrow!

Sherlock Season 2 Review

Alright so today I watched the last episode of BBC's Sherlock about the detective in a modern interpretation. I was kinda sceptical to the whole concept before my sister had watched it and said that it was one of the best series ever. So that finally got my interest high enough to actually watch it, and as usual I blamed myself for not watching it earlier (I think it was late September or early October). Well I didn't have to wait THAT long for Season 2 at least.

I'm just gonna write some thoughts about each episode. Beforehand I can say that I thought Season 2 was even better than the first one, even the "in between episode" that was a bit weaker in the first season. The main characters developed even more, you saw new sides of Sherlock and both the cases and transitions between scenes where much more detailed and intresting than Season 1.

I'm gonna try to keep this review spoiler free as I always do but this time it will spoil both the beginning and ending of the series cause well, I can't do this review without spoilers. So well, if you intend to watch it (WHY HAVEN'T YOU?) then stop read here and go watch it!

Episode 1: A Scandal in Belgravia

The first episode starts out with a short recap of the ending events of last episode, where Moriarty finally gets identified and threats to blow Watson to smithereens. In what seems to be an foolish suicide attempt by blowing up the charge, Moriarty gets a phone call and walks away, calling of even the snipers. Then you don't really see that much of Moriarty until the last episode The Reichenbach Falls. That was a bit disappointing since I thought we would see more of him, but in the end that left you without any really clue what would happen.

The plot in this episode is actually really confusing at first. Sherlock gets introduced to the female fatal Irene Adler, a dominatrix that tries to both seduce and get sympathy from him. But that works... well... it actually kinda does in a way because he's the only female we ever see him interact with in another way than everyone else (well except for Ms Hudson and Molly but they are useful "tools"). I really get invested in the little game they play, that it looks that she outsmarts him. Their relation is what really makes this episode intresting.

Overall I think now after watching every episode that this was the weakest (but still better than Blind Baker) episode of Season 2. The plot isn't that interesting actually, but the strong character development and interactions is what makes it work. And the transitions when they are building up the crime scene from a living room to a field... wow that was really good!

Episode 2: The Hounds of Baskerville

Actually the episode that I had highest expectations of. Even if I haven't read the novel yet or seen a movie version I know the story and really wonder how they would make it work in a modern setting. Instead of a mansion, Baskerville is a modern research facility owned by the English army. They hint early in the episode about genetic experiments and you start wondering if that's really the case.

The episode was VERY clever built around human fears of the unkown and if you really can trust your senses when your afraid. To see Sherlock really afraid for the first time, man that was priceless. And when you don't think that his and Watsons relation couldn't grow anymore... well it does!

I must say that it worked well both as a detective story and a horror story. It didn't get cliché at alland even I got a bit nervous at some of the scenes. The resolution was clever and we still got some hounds around so I was very pleased with the episode!

Episode 3: The Reichenbach Falls

The final episode of the season... and the final Sherlock episode? At the beginning, Watson visit his therapeutic after 18 months since the last session and starts to talk about Sherlocks... death? And then the episode starts with Moriarty being back and do three crimes at the same time, just to get closer to Sherlock. After a trial which he walks away not guilty, he issues "The Final Problem" to Sherlock, a clever nod to the novel.

The whole episodes plot is cleverly built up to frame Sherlock for everything that have happened since they last met, and to totally destroy him. In a really nervous and brilliant confrontation at a rooftop, you just wonder how the hell this all will end.

I must say without spoiling the whole ending that I was both pleased and disappointed how things turned out, it still left the episode with a satisfying ending. They did it so clever that Moffat and Gaties can leave us with that ending, or do a third season.

I have really nothing more to say than I really love BBC Sherlock. It has such a good cast with strong supporting characters, the plots in every single episode are clever built and interesting (even the two weaker episodes, though the other forth are better), I haven't watched a better crime series and probably never will. I am both contend with it, as much as I really want more. But time will tell!

Sicknesshaters

(about the title, me and my sister founded the Facebook Group Sicknesshaters today cause well, we hate to get sick. Invitations only ~)

So I haven't been that active the last couple of days because of sickness, my body didn't take a week of almost no sleep and heavy work quite well so now I'm stuck with a cold that just won't go away. I have been up and running too which makes it worse, yesterday I got some bad fever and had to get to bed for rest of the day. But it's better today and I will just stay home and rest... even if I really want to head out and do stuff. I get restlessnesses pretty easy at home, even if I have ton of stuff to do.

Have seen the latest Sherlock Episode "The Hounds of Baskerville" and I thought it was really really great. They took a horror story set in the late 1900th century and made it work really way in a modern setting. You saw a new frightened side of Sherlock that you never thought would happen and I was satisfied with the plot and conclusion. The small teaser for the third episode "The Reichenbach Falls" was as usual very small in information, I don't watch the trailers for the episodes cause I don't want to spoil anything. But I really wonder if they will take some aspects from Doyles novel "The Final Problem". Well, not that long until we find out!

On wedsneday we had the final Yoikaimeeting with this period of operations board. Now I'm just looking forward to the Annual meeting on 4th February so we really can start what the club will do during 2012. And that will be a lot I tell you (will be included in further update).

I also got some money yesterday thanks to a sale. Sold 2 PS1 games (Suikoden 2 and Star Ocean Second story) in PAL formats, I want them in NTSC so I will hunt them down later. So I went for a little shopping spree, will do a shopping note update later today!

So today I'm gonna realax more, I have a Vlog to shoot and games to play. Maybe a movie or two. Let's see what happens!

Bad and good musical news

Read earlier today that Tommy Iomi, Black Sabbaths guitarist have been diagonsed with blood cancer. Nothing is relieved how serious is it but he's gonna get treatment in a early stage of the sickness which will increase the chance of full recovery. I wish him the best of luck and really hope that it won't affect the bands tour this spring (now that I have tickets).

On a happier note, Van Halen released the video of the song Tattoo which will open the album A Different Kind of Truth. It will be released on 7th February and man, I'm really psyched about the album cause the single sounds great! Good old Van Halen!

After the war... convention I mean!

So it's monday and yesterday Yoicon:03 ended. I must say that I NEVER have started a year better than this, the standard is really set high for this year and I wonder if I anything else will beat it this year? Well, it's just monday second week into 2012 so you never know what will happen but it will be though!

I am so happy that the convention went smooth, there was no bigger incident (there is always someone who gets hurt in a way or another but nothing THAT serious that's life threatening), no real stress this time and I just loved the crew we had, they worked so hard and really enjoyed it!

But we do this most for our visitors, and they really loved the convention. Our goal is to be a cozy and homey convention with something going on all the time, with many events and happenings. And we succeded really good this time cause the visitors was really satisfied with what we could offer them. Kinda sad that many didn't give us any feedback on how we could be even better next year except for having japanese karaoke again (we had it last year but the club that would arrange it had to cancel it in the last minute).

I am totally beat after this week with preparations and working. I really scarified sleep just to work and have fun, and I just loved it. I have taken this day of for doing nothing more than rest, eat pizza and play games/watch movies. Nothing more, nothing less! Yesterday will be going back to do economical work and start writing some evaluation about the convention and workers.... but that's tomorrow!

Preperations for the convention

It's pretty early here but I'm awake after three hours of sleep. Why you might wonder? Well the final preperations for the convention has begun. Yesterday me and a couple of guys in the working group moved in at the convention local. We got all the cafeteria purchases done, we started to print out some of papers we are going to need and just had a nice time.

This morning I and another worker was interviewed by Sveriges Radio Värmland about the convention and the club. It went pretty good actually even if I was so freaking tired after the "long" sleep. Now I'm even more exited becuase I hope that even more people will hear about us! You can find the link here:

Alright, I don't really talk about music news in this blog becuase well, their's tons of other sites where you can get the latest and fresh news. But I want at least to comment a couple of stuff I read today.

The maybe biggest new for me now is about the upcoming Van Halen album and tour. I have been a VH fan for years and love their first albums. Hard rock at it's best! I think that their debut album is one of the best debut releases ever, man that album blows my mind! And now to get new fresh material and maybe a visit here in Sweden, man I can't wait to hear this.

Sabaton have announced that their upcoming album will be named Carolus Rex and will be released in the end of May. I really hope I will get the chance to see them this year. I'm not their biggest fan but I enjoy War Metal!

Dream Theaters singer James LaBrie will soon start to work on his fifth solo album. The last one called Static Impulse was a pretty good album IMO. A bit more metal and screams that got me kinda suprisied at first but it's fun to hear James trying to do something else just like solo albums are all about!

Happy New Year 2012

Alright, the first day in 2012. I had a blast with a very good party that I hosted, and man were we many? Like 40-50 people. Got kinda cramped but it was still tons of fun. It's not going to be that much fun cleaning the whole day, but at least we took care of the worst part (kitchen) before going to bed!

So, it's 2012 and man, I going to have like the best year ever! I got so much stuff planned, but I will shed some light to that in an upcoming Vlog (probably making it tomorrow or Tuesday). At least the first part of the year is going to be hectic, but that's how I like it!

But then we shouldn't forget what made last year so special! It was a very interesting year, I had so much fun getting Yoikai to grow into the club it is today, and it will continue to expand in 2012. I have meet SO many new wonderful people and experienced so much fun moments with them that I will treasure forever. I have also gotten into making my own job, a chance to make a contribution for the youth here in Värmland and working with something that I really care about and I know I'll love it!

But there's been a lot of emotional lowpoints to. Family related, what other people have gone through and the painful emotional process I had in October. But nothing beats living together with that fucking retarded person Herr T. I will probably never get to see him again but man he made my life a freaking hell for so long, and to know that he got away with the worst thing he did...

And let's not forget all the great albums, movies and games that came out this year! Of course I had to sum it up in a Vlog, which you can see here!

Well I have done WAY more updates on the blog this December than I have since I revived the blog back i August. Now why I wonder? Shouldn't I focus on the vlogs that was my biggest reason for actually start bloggin again? I have decided to write more on the blog. Doing some reviews of older movies/games/albums or new ones that I haven't got the time to do a vlog about.

Well Vlogs are very fun to do and a GREAT way for me to speak more english, I really need that exercise. But I realize how much time consuming they are. I have to write scripts so I don't have to think THAT much what to say, I need to find a spot in the schedule when I can actually film it, and then we have the editing process. I'm very new with editing movies (using Pinnacle Studios) and although it's very easy to use, editing a clip takes time. And I have plans to make more advanced logs in the future, but I don't have the time or true passion to make them just yet.

I don't say that I will stop making vlogs and just start blogging again. I like doing them, but I must be 100% devoted to do them, and right now in life I'm too busy. But I will still upload the New Years Eve vlog tomorrow, and on Monday/Tuesday shoot, edit and upload a "Visions for 2012" video. Then it's the convention. And after that... well I will probably have the time for doing more stuff.

Accounting

I was so bored at accounting today that well, the title spoils how much "fun" it was. But this time I have learned WAY more that last year when I started doing accounting for the club "Ookami". Much of the problem laid with that I was learning accounting from a person (and this is nothing personal) that has his views how you should account. It was WAY to complicated for me too actually learn in the short amount of time I had, so I still had to ask him how to do stuff all the time (he was the chairman while I was treasurer, I took the job because the old one dropped out).

Accounting in a club in our size shouldn't have to be that complicated, and you know what, it doesn't have to be! I have read much on the internet and in a VERY resourceful book about clubs and how they work here in Sweden. There aren't that many rules to apply on the club itself more than what the statues says. And when it comes to accounting, the most important thing is the ability to easy track where the money have been added or subtracted. In the end, it must all add up. But you don't have to take so many sideways to achieve that as I was learned to believe.

But in the end I learned a lot being a treasurer at first to get the flow about accounting. Now I have a pretty good idea how to do it, but I'm doing it MY way. And it's just as correct as my friend does it, we both get the same results but takes different ways to reach the same goal. I think he got his idea about accounting from the big organization he's in, they have a lot more money each year to handle and maybe needs that much control and work with the accounting, because the money might split in more and complicated ways than it does for Yoikai (I seriously believe that's the case).

Problem is that I'm not done yet. Today I still manage a great deal that was a mystery for long, getting the petty cash to add up. The documentation about this must have been lost when I switched rooms because I can't find it anywhere. Tomorrow I will have to do all the verification in orders and add them all to the accounting program, that will take about... the whole day? But I will get some time in the evening to test a new boardgame with a couple of friends, that will be a nice break!

What the hell Pixar... or the root of all evil

Read some disturbing morning news on Twitter today about Pixar making a forth movie in the Toy Story series. And I'm REALLY not approving that idea, AT ALL! Why? Well... at first, why? Why milking a franchise that nobody thought would get a third movie, I was REALLY surprised when they announced it. The third movie was however very very good, well one of the studios best I think. And I think I like it best of the trilogy cause of the ending that mad ME almost shed some tears. It was a beutiful way to end the series...

... and now they are going to ruin that with a forth installment. Well it's not 100% announced yet as far as I can read through the internet, but still it wouldn't surprise me after the sequel marathon that the studio have put out the last couple of years. I mean, one or two sequels, I'm perfectly fine with that. More... well then they should do something like Indiana Jones and wait many years before they gather around and make a new movie more for fun than milking a series. There was a gap of years between the second and third movie in the Toy Story trilogy, but that made it look better cause of the advancement in technology.

I'm just sad that Pixar have finally come to the "milking franchise" stage where new material won't get made, instead they will put out more movies in series that doesn't need them. I mean GOD Disney, wasn't Cinderella 4 enough? Stop forcing Pixar into doing all those sequels! I should even get mad at Pixar themselves, it's Disneys marketing that makes this actually happening!

Disney... the root of all evil... when it comes to ruining you childhoods favorite movies!

Cinema Review - Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Director: Tomas Alfredsson
Actors: Gary Oldman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth

Plot (spoiler free). Based on a book by John leCarre. Set in the 1970's Cold War era, the brittish intelligence tries to find a mole inside their own top ranks. Mr Smiley, a retired agent that they fired a year before is now back to invastigate the case "outside the protocol".

The Movie starts out kinda slow but after the first hour, your hooked until the credit rolls. Swedish director Tomas Alfredsson has made a strong script that really builds up the plot with clever cinematography and a all star cast.

Gary Oldman as mister Smiley feels like a really ironic name to the character who dosen't really smile at all trough the whole movie, but he's the best actor of them all in an already strong cast where also Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth and Mark Strong makes strong impressions.

The plot itself feels very strong and keeps your interest up the whole movie, I was totally mislead and had NO idea who the mole could be, I was really surprised when it was reviled in the end. You maybe can solve it if you really follow all the details through the movie but I wasn't paying that much attention.

Another strong part with the movie was it's atmosphere. It really catch the time it was set in, I could really feel that this was a good representation of the political climate of the time period and the games the intelligence in different countries played, even if it could end up in death.

I probably never would have watched this movie in the cinema if it wasn't that my family wanted to go and see it together. Not my type of cinema movie but I don't regret seeing it (would probably do it later anyway). A really good spy thriller!

Well it's still Christmas

Well here in Sweden we celebrate Christmas on the 24th, not 25th as most other countries that celebrates christmas do. So when we start to chill a bit from the food and presents, everybody else on the internet start to shoot "MERRY XMAS". I just like the contrast!

So I hope everybody had/has a good celebration. We started the day with eating breakfast together. Then me and my father went out for last minute christmas shopping (my father as usual), and I bought a spontaneous christmas gift for my sister (a shoehorn because the one she has now SUCKS). Then the whole family went to my grandfathers (mothers side) resting place to light some candles. This year we also lighted a candle for our old cat Zimba that died this fall, and also my grandmothers (mothers side) husband.

Then we went home for some coffee. And waited for the clock to turn 15 so I could watch "Kalle Anka och hans vänner" (Donald Duck and his friends", a yearly tradition to watch on TV every year. And after that, it was time for dinner. This year we tried a more traditional brittish dinner with Turkey. It was really good actually. Around 18 our grandfathers and mothers visited with my uncles on both sides. After some coffee it was time to open presents. My list was:

Cash (I don't wanna write how much because it's not your business, but I got some to spend on stuff)

That's what I remember, I have already packed it. Me and my parents watched two movies afterward (Swedish cult classic Sällskapsresan and the new Police comedy Kommisare Späck). It was a really nice christmas, I really enjoyed spending this quality time with my family that I missed last year. Christmas really makes me appreciate the family a liiiitle bit more than usual even though I love them every single day!

Today I have just slacked, except for a little walk with a dog that my family are taking care of over christmas (it belongs to my brothers girlfriends family that are on vacation). Going over to TheMankos house after dinner to watch some Rifftrax movies I guess, it's always nice!

Tomorrow is my last whole day here in Stockholm before going back to Karlstad around 12.40. Going to head out with the family and checking out some sales. Swedish stores usually have sales the days between christmas and new years eve called "Mellandagsrean". There aren't that much stuff that actually are cheaper but if you are lucky you can find some really good bargains. I don't have anything in mind... well except for buying some stuff for the convention.

And then I'm of home again to Karlstad. Gonna spend the 27th with doing some shopping, planning for the convention and finish of the accounting for Yoikai. On the 28-29th I'm going to attend a role playing convention and GM a CoC inspired adventure and roleplay in other adventures. Gonna rest on the 30th, cause on New Years Eve I'm gonna host a kinda big party with over 30 participants. It's gonna be the best party ever!

Lucia Movie Night

Well last night I did a new thing for once, watching movies at a cinema the whole night. Our only cinema enterprise here in Sweden SF have since the mid 80's hosted a event every night to Lucia to avoid younger adults getting drunk (cause it was very popular back in the days to get drunk on this night, why I have NO idea). Now it's more for movie nerds that want to have a random movie experience, cause you have NO idea what movies are going to be shown. There is however a couple of factors accordning to my friend that have visitied this event for the past ten years:

1. Non of the movies have premiered in Sweden yet
2. It's never a movie that will have world premiere after the event
3. The movies will have premiere somewhere around December - February (on rare occasions even as far as Mars)
4. There is always a Swedish movie and a animated feature.

Then it's all a guessing game about which movies your gonna see. My guesses, although really wishful, was Sherlock Holmes Games of Shadows, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the new Sällskapsresan movie. But none of those movies where shown. I thought that they would show three REALLY awful movies just to mess up my first Lucia Movie Night experience and that I never would want to go again. Well, it wasn't that bad!

First, we had to wait for two and a half hour until the cinema opened. First hour was spend @ Mcdonalds and the other one and a half hour outside the cinema. Then everybody rushed to the cinema to get the best seats. We sat pretty high (one row from the top) but it was pretty good. The personal came in and just spoke about some safety and that we could expect some lighter refreshments after the first and second movie.

After some commercials and trailers the first movie New Year's Eve began. It's and romantic comedy with drama elements about a bunch of people and how they celebrate the coming of the new year. I thought the film had some funny characters and one scene with an dying Robert DeNiro was kinda emotional, but overall this was a weaker copy of Love Actually. Nothing that I would have watched on another occasion than this.

Then it was a 20 min break for some gingerbreads and glögg. Back to the seats and the personal did a little sketch thing that wasn't really good at all. They used Imperial March from Star Wars, and we new that one of the films where going to be in 3D this year so me and my friend started to think "what the hell, will they show Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D now?". But then we remember that it will have world premiere and our choices where cut down to either the 3D version of Lion King or Puss In Boots... it was the later that was shown!

I really enjoyed the Shrek movies (haven't seen the last one yet), and well Puss in Boots where a good follow up. I was entertained throughout the movie except for one or two transport sections. I really liked how they mixed up the setting with the Mexican 1900 period with the story about Jack and the beanstalk.

Second break for 30 min and we got some sandwiches with Coke. It was a nice early breakfast! And in yet again for some sketches (better this time) where there was a kinda funny contest where the winner won a Playstation 3! And then the last movie, a Swedish comedy called "En Gång I Phuket". Surprisingly enough, this was the best movie of the bunch. I haven't laughed like this for a long time when it comes to a Swedish comedy movie, the characters always had funny replies to each other. And man, even if the movie was set in Thailand around Christmas and new years eve, I got a really strong yearning for summer.

And that was it for Lucia Movie Night. I got home around 7 and it was strait to bed for a 5 hour sleep, I'm really tired today so I don't think I will have problem sleeping later. I had a pretty good experience with this. The price is a liiitle expensive (250 kronor) for three movies that can be hit or miss. We also realized that none of the movies that where shown was in the trailer reels between movies, so now we have a new factor to account for. My friend also said that the sketches, contests and prizes have declined over the years (except for the PS3), and he was kinda disappointed. Well I wasn't, so who knows, this might become a yearly tradition because I will go next year!

Third Advent - Not another Christmas rant

OMG LESS THAN TO WEEKS UNTIL IT'S CHRISTMAS, WOHO!

I don't think my next blog entry will be that informative becuase I will have a meeting about the conventon and then home for christmas celebration (I will travel with my sister to Stockholm on the 21th and be there until 27th) next sunday. I even think I will prerecord the Vlog for 4th advent.

Yeah I'm a sucker for christmas, that's a common fact with the people I know. I can't really put the finger on why I love christmas so much. I think the biggest reason now days is to be able spending quality time with my family, giving them a little gift of appreciation (just like I give to close relatives and friends) and eating good food together.

Well this year we wont eat any christmas food at all with parents or close relatives, but that's alright cause were gonna eat China food this year. Maybe I will try something different that the usual stuff I eat (fried meat). But I will get my christmas food both at home on the 18th and then on the 20th me and some friends will hit IKEA and eat there.

It's really not about reciving gifts anymore that was the most awesome thing about christmas, and I guess most people grows up from this stage at some part in their lives. But still, I like getting stuff because it's a way to show aprecation. Me and my brother won't give each other presents this year, instead we will donate some money to charity events (like you buy a family in a poor country food), and recvives a greeting. Works with me and maybe this will become a tradition between us kids (sadly I already bought my sister a gift this year, it was TOO awesome not to buy for her).

Christmas is about spending some quality time with the people you love the most and do something special for once. You don't have to buy tons of gifts or pretending to like the food that's served. Just drink a bit of Julmust and of you go!

Second Advent ROLE THAT DICE MAMA!

Alright, this advent was very focused on Role Playing cause I did a Vlog today about role playing that I wanted to do for a while. It's all in swedish cause I wanted it to go along with the other Vlogs this advent season, but maybe I will do something in english in the future. Only time will tell!

When I was around 10-11 i read some books that was like a shorter single player role playing adventure in book format, where you where prompted to switch pages to progress in the story. If you died, you had to start over from the beginning (well I cheated a lot lol). Got those books even with Mario and Zelda, that was cool!

My role playing era started "for reals" with Final Fantasy VII. Played it at a friends house back when the game was new in Sweden. I didn't manage to get out of the first reactor before it exploded, man I REALLY sucked at games then (well I'm not that good now either but I don't usually die that fast in games lol). Then I borrowed the game a year later from another friend on PC and I was hooked. Then it was time for FF VIII and NES/SNES emulators. Those games really got me into learning english so I could understand the games, so I really believe games to be good educational tools!

My first experience with western RPG:s was Baldur's Gate 1 on the PC. It was really challenging and it took me years to actually finish the game, but man I really loved to roam around the Sword Coast, killing monsters, finishing quests and equip my hero with baddas weapons and armor. The sequel is considered by me as one of the best games ever!

February 2009 was my first experience with old school RPG:s when a guy wanted people for a new role playing group. We started to play the Swedish game Eon, which to me now is really nostalgic. We where WAY to many players at the beginning but man I had tons of fun, and now this is one of my favorite hobbies!

What do I have planned in this are for the future?

* Write two CoC adventures, one short and one longer
* Create a Star Wars Campaign set after the Legacy era

Some sad news... but also good!

Heard that a relative took his life a couple of days ago. He was depressed for several years but noboy thought it was THIS bad. He wasn't atting my mothers 50th birthday becuase of the depression and well, maybe that was for the best. I think I would have taken it a lot worse if I had recently meet him, it was over 2 years since last time and I haven't seen him much since I moved to Karlstad. My condolence goes to his family that have to suffer through this. Don't know anything about a funeral but I hope I can manage to attend if I'm invited because I want to say goodbye one last time and thank him for all the good times.

Well I'm accually more chocked than depressed about this... but today I just felt really bad bout this. Not just that it happend. other stuff around me feels a bit unstable and I got a bit worried about some things. Probably just me getting worked up over nothing, but the that uneasy feeling wasn't a pleseant experience at all!

But now for something more... good? Well uh, I got some Fates Warning vinyls yesterday in REALLY good contidion. Also got to borrow a bigger phat TV for my retro corner so It will be a litter cooler experience to play older games on that one, and hear the sound trough my 4 speaker stereo system!

I also found some stuff in the storage outside so my office room got rearranged too. Feels kinda nice to have a working space for upcoming projects, and to know that the space is just for work and not other stuff so I don't get distracted by something else. Still have some paperwork to sort out but It will be so awesome when I'm done!

Today I also called some autoritiez and companys to change compartment and energy company so I got some adult scores right there! Also called a church about a local that's for hire, that might suit Yoikai perfectly! They didn't call back so I will try again tomorrow.

So well, some bad news but life keeps up and I will have a good last month this year I think if nothing drastically will happen. But life is always full of surprises, both good and bad!

First Advent - ... a little bit late

Well it's late, theoraticly it's monday and I can't sleep. So why not write something in the blog? Well, I had my parents over this weekend and it was really nice! Got some cool stuff from my parents house like nice looking carpets, a new table in my Nerd room and maybe best of all, a box filled with old PC game boxes! Looks really great in the new shelf I got just for PC games.

I also rearranged in my room a bit today when my parents went home. I think I will post a photoguide and maybe a video of my rooms soon, maybe even as the next Advent project. Cause I'm gonna do something special every upcoming advent this year, no big deals but something just for the heck of it. Like the video of me talking about the new anime season at the end of this entry.

Well what's coming up this first week of December? Well... I don't actually have that much planned to be honest. Tomorrow (or later today lol) I will head out to buy some stuff that I forgot this weekend. Then on Wednesday it's boardgames afternoon with the club. Party on Friday and yet again club activities on Saturday!

I have so many thing I'm gonna do next year and I'm really psyched about that! But I won't spoil that stuff until my last vlog of 2011! Stay in tune ppl!

A perfect weekend

So now it's November, remember the chill! Um anyway, I had a really nice weekend in Stockholm. Arrived with my sister last Thursday and we just had enough time to put down our bags before we headed out. Visited a second hand store where I bought some old cassets and a LP. Then we headed to Heron City, a big shopping mall. Had some nice Greek food and spent some time at Media Markt before the big event of the day happend, seeing the new Tintin movie! And what a great movie it was! It took some new directions from the source material, but the changes where accually really good and made the plot fresh for us who has read the comics a billion times. The CGI was really great and the movie was a non stop rollercoaster ride! Had to watch it in Swedish but the voices was good, the new voice for Tintin in Swedish was great! Overall, maybe the best movie I seen this year!

Friday it was time to visit Kistamässan for the first time and the big game convention Gamex. At first I thought it was massive, but after just about two hours me and my friend TheManko had seen everything that we wanted to see. Bought Monkey Island 1-2 Special Edition and a Silent Hill 3 Wallscroll from my friends at Nerd World! And we went to a viewing of Mass Effect 3. Damn that game will be great! I hope that Gamex will have more unique stuff next year cause their wasn't that much new stuff.

And on Saturday, my mom had this big 50 year birthdayparty. Over 60 guests and I was in the working crew. I had to work even more becuase one of the staff got sick. But all my efforts really paid of because my mother had a really good time and that was everything I ever wanted. And I got like 2 weeks worth of food with me home, and my parents will bring some booze leftovers next time they visit. They will also bring some furnitures and carpets.

I also found some old game boxes in our Attic for games like Curse of Monkey Island, Planescape Torment and Discworld 2. Now the games are back in their boxes and it looks so cool! Miss those big freaking things, it looks great in the shelf. Still, you need a lot of space so maybe in the end it was good that games started to get released in DVD boxes instead.

So well, I had a blast this weekend. Now I will spend a few days with only myself and some games, movies and tv-shows. I want to at least finish Uncharted 2 and watch the two last Harry Potter Movies. And film that Vlogg about anime^^'

100th blogpost

Wow, this is my 100th post in this blog. Never thought this day would happen, that I didn't delete or totally forgot about the blog like all the others. So well, maybe I will celebrate it today with my first glass of Julmst for this season!

Since my mental breakdown last week... well, life is moving on. I have talked, wrote and expressed my feelings in some ways I never thought I would do. For example, I have wroten some poems. My first poem was accually in English, so I will post it at the end of this post. Poems is accually a great way to express your feelings and thoughts. You can hide hidden messages that you want people to read but not "get".

Maybe I will write the full history about this at a later post, even if it's not really nerd related. But hey, it's my life your reading about so suck it up!

To give you something Nerdy too... hm... I'm writing a fanfic! Yes that's another thing I never imagine me doing, but I have already wrote three pages already. What am I writing about? Well that my friends are a secret for now! But I can hint it's a meeting between one of Europes most popular comic figures and an American horror creature that's just TOO awesome not to write about.

I will come back later this week, GAH I need to do a new Vlog :(

Swansong

Wow, this was an interesting weekend indeed, with road trips, party's and gay sex!

So yeah, early Friday morning I went to Germany by car. The trip takes a little bit more than 10 hours, with two ferry's (one from Sweden - Denmark and Denmark - Germany). We had like three hours to shop down in Burg before we needed to take the ferry back to Denmark. The trip went smooth at least, I was down there in late April and kinda new the routine. Bought some nice stuff so now I have something to drink for a while.

Then on Saturday I had a very spontaneous party at my place. Went over to a friend who celebrated his 25th birthday. Then we continued the party at my house so... the whole party was random. Two gays had sex in our guest room and well, now I have some party stories to tell!

And yesterday was just chillin' with pizza, anime and some other stuff. The new anime season have finally started and theirs a lot of animes to watch for me. Here's my list:

The King Is Dead

Yesterday the oldest of my parents cat had to be put down. And that was really sad news cause he's been there for 18 years now. He was and always will be the Lion king for me. All hail the King!

Yesterday was supposed to be a good day and well, it still was kinda fun. We kinda celebrates the Cinnamon bun here in Sweden so we ate a lot of... buns! Got together with a bounce of friends and ate buns, played some board games and just had a good time. We played a game "Drakborgen" and this was the first time I accually survivied, the stars must be right or something...

Now I have finally started playing God of War III. Yeah I'm kinda slow with some games in my collection but I must feel a need to play certain games. And man, all of the other games have pissed me of at some points, and this game makes no exceptions. But it's a really good game. Planning on buying both of the remastered PS2/PSP collections.

Later today/tomorrow I will film a new Vlog. This time I will talk about Role Playing. I haven't played the "pen-paper" type of RPG:s for more than 2 and a half year but I still have some computer/console experience. And well, I wanna share some histories and other fun stuff/facts with you guys.

Bad News and the Filth

Alright, yesterday was terrible because something happend and well... I don't wanna talk about it right now. It isn't really THAT bad but I took it worse than I thought I would.

Then today, I took a decision to quit a association that I have been a part of for one year and a half. Things have gone downhill for a while and I couldn't take it anymore. I have more reasons than that to quit but those things are not for the public to know... yet.

So from hard days to.. hard days? Well I will get through this but today I feel kinda down. Maybe I will be a bit more happier if I watch some Family Guy, watching some good old episodes from the first four seasons when the series was good. Now days it's kinda boring, it was WAY better before with more "flashbacks" segments that made the show really funny!

I also gained some interest to watch That 70's Show again. Haven't seen more than a rerun episode on TV since 2008 when I watched the whole series. Wow it's really one of my favorite TV shows of all time, I really like the 70's setting, the characters (Red IS the man!) and all the running jokes (like foot up your ass and BURN!). It also has a good continuity, you can really see a red line through the series and what happens to the characters. Looking forward to start watching it again from the beginning!

Soon I will do a new vlog about... albums! Yeah 2011:s September have been crazy with freaking 8 (!) new albums from bands that I listen too! Since I already have done one about Dream Theaters "A Dramatic Turn of Events", I have the new Opeth, Arch/Matheos, Redemption, Anthrax, Pain of Salvation, Mastodon and Edguy albums to talk about. Look forward to a lengthy Vlog soon!

Alright so, I really have not that much to say I think... the LAN last week was terrific, I made some new

acquaintances and had really fun fragging the ass of people. Well I wasn't the best player around but won some matches when playing Medal of Honor AA and Quake III.

I had to format one of my hard drives a couple of days ago. All my movies and series got deleted in the process so now I have to dowload that freaking 200 gig Doctor Who torrent again. Well I got the intrest so watch Family Guy and got the latest season... and man, that series have just gone so plain boring. Well some parts are kinda good (like when Peter gets atticded to Red Bull, that's classic FG), but most of the time I find it just... boring.

Most of my time this week have been spend with my mother that came to visit. It was nice, got some new stuff and ate really good food. Sometimes I can live with being a bit spoiled, even when I am an adult.

Alright well, I hope that I will post some new Vloggs soon. I haven't run out of ideas, I just need to get my lazy ass doing them!

2 weeks of stuff

Alright so I haven't posted anything for two weeks. Well, life have been kinda downer of latley. Haven't got the energy to do much and when stuff finally got better, a bomb dropped down and my mental health got a bit nuked. It's not THAT bad but I haven't got any energy to do stuff like Vloggs and blogging. I hope it will turn for the better soon!Yesterday me and some friends went to Örebro that's like one hour ride from Karlstad and visited a shop called Nerd World. Bought myself a Wallscroll from Castlevania Lords of Shadows. And we had a meeting for the upcoming Convention Yoicon:03, im really glad that I can start to work with that now!Tomorrow there will be a old school LAN that I will attend to all weekend. That will be fun and awesome, something I really need now. Well gotta go, see ya!

Yeah I haven't wrote anything for five days, and that's because... well some boring stuff have happend in my life that I had to sort out and take on, nothing that I will talk about here cause that's not YOUR problem dudes! But I'm alright, I have been through worse stuff in my life!

So anyway, have been playing alot with the new computer. I'm a bit dissapointed that some games that The Witcher II and Deus Ex Human Revolution doesn't play that great with higher graphic settings, thought that this machine would do better. But well, now I can accualy play them.

But the game I have played most is Shogun 2 and MAN I HATE THAT GAME! It's not bad, but the AI is WAY to agressive this time around. I got my ass handed to me at the easiest difficulty setting, that's just wierd. Finally I got through a short campaign and you know what, I'm done with that game, I just can't take that the AI want to wage war all the time and ALWAYS have bigger armiers than me... so well, I stick with Empire thank you very much!

Watched two "fiction fucks with reality" movies yesterday. First Videodrome, a film from 1984 (good year) starring James Wood (yeah that actor from Family Guy that likes candy). It was... wierd, but good! Then I watched Stay Alive, a film about a game that "kills people". The characteres where SO bland and some of them was your stereotypical gamer type. The plot was just SO freaking stupid and I really just didn't like it. However, the game they played was kinda cool, like a co-op horror game that had a kinda cool setting. Would be intresting to play... if I don't had to die IRL if I died in the game, you don't get any saves features...

Oh and I watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes before that. It was accualy a pretty good movie and a intressting take on the Planet of the Apes series. It's a reboot so no it's not gonna follow the old movies but that film series is over and done with. And this was WAY better than the Tim Burton remake of the orginal movie from 2003. It had a good plot (however the ending was... lame), good actors and very good special effects. I really hope Andy Serkins wins a Oscar for his role as Ceaser, cause if a monkey feels more alive that most humans actors, then you have a winning concept!

So well, tomorrow I will probably shoot a new vlog about either Revolution, or some thougts abut Shogun.. maybe both? Well let's see!

It's all new and it's all good

Alright not everything is new... heck the only new think BUT THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS is my new PC! Got myself one from the new Acer Predator series. I had to go with the cheapest one but man, it's a HUGE step from my old computer that I bought in 200. Sure that computer can still play the newest games with decent graphic, but lacked much in other areas like when editing videos. With new graphic card and 6 gig of RAM, I think it will hold up for a while!

Also got some new boardgames to the club. Finally I will get to play Mansion of Madness! We also bought Zombies!!!, Ticket to Ride and a Quizzgame. Next week we will have a boardgame event so it will be fun to test those games out!

Yesterday I also went to se Cowboys and Aliens. Of course I had to Vlog about it. New clips features me talk about more of those god damn Smurfs and me unboxing stuff!

Today it's party time! We will be like at least 15 people, maybe up to 30. It's kinda nice to have a big apartment with many rooms for people to hang out in. I'm really looking forward to this since my last two party ideas had to be canceled do to illness.

New ideas about the blog

Well I have thought about the blog today and what I might add here in the future. Since I'm getting into the hole video thing, I might add more video content to the site. Today I added a "Other Video" page where I will post videos that aren't categorized like Vlogs or concert clips. I have some more plans for the future:

* Making "Let's Play Videos". Yeah their exist a TON of those on the Internet, but since people play in many different ways, I think I can add something special to my videos in terms of gameplay cause man I'm pretty terrible at games. Might also add commentary if I get some good software!

* Since I have a sword just laying around that I got from a friend, why not shoot something with that? I have already pictured some interesting sketches in my head that's not too hard getting on camera.

* Start write reviews. Yeah I have done that in the past, I was actually part of a video game site back in 2003-4 where I wrote some reviews in Swedish. But since I want to dive deeper in the English Language, this might be a good way to do so! And I simply can't Vlog about EVERYTHING! Since I'm so lazy the first reviews I post will probably be Swedish ones I just translate.

I don't have any idea how much content I will be ably to put up in the future. My main focus will still be the Vlogs and Blog Entries, and I wait for my new computer before I will start making Let's Play Videos. Let's start easy with adding some written reviews ok?

Riot in London

In the beginning of June, me, my family and some friends to the family visited London. For me it was my first time their and I just love London! So many cool places to visit (I have many more places I want to visit that we didn't had time for), interesting shops and the food was great! It was a great birthday present that I will treasure forever!

I filmed a lot and now I have edited together it into an feature called "Dannooo-Riot in London". It's all in Swedish expect for in a couple of places, but I think I filmed some cool stuff anyway that everyone can watch and enjoy. The sound is low the first 20 min, and gets higher after the Day 4 title.

So if you got 35 min to spend, watch and enjoy my nice vacation in London (I will travel back their next year, might do something cooler in english then x)

Smurf On!

Yeah Now I have posted the Smurfs Movie English Version. And also added a English only Vlogg about the movie Smurfs and The Magic Flute. Taken some clips from the movie and the editing process took a while, so it will ONLY be posted in English. For Swedish viewers, I have something special for you next week!

The Game Night was really fun as our events usualy are. My sister GM a Harry Potterish scenario that was kinda intresting, she didn't had a real story so we players kinda filled in what was going to happen. Well I was kinda satisfied when I did a potion and morphed a players character into a dragon.

Then later that night I GM a Silent Hill role playing game. It created it where quckily but got some intressting ideas where the players told me something their character had done in their life that they where really ashamed of or regretted.... or just did and it was horrible. I found the child molester very intresting. Also the ending made me throw in Pyramid Head into it JUST because it became such and awesome way to end the game. Well if Silent Hill Homecoming could have him, so could I!

Also had some time singing and playing drums in Rock Band and Guitar Hero. The funniest was doing Enter Sandman Trololo style and Gay Bar!

Yes and today I visited the market at the freaking other end of the city and man, that was a disappointment. I was MUCH smaller than I thought it would be and they didn't have much that intrested me. I bought some melon candy and a funny tshirt sayin' "I'm Not A Racist, Im Just Afraid Of The Dark".

Well it's been and really nice weekend anyway, and now I'm SO freaking tired after being awake for 38 hours. Good Night to you and let's hope for an exiting week!

Soon I will leave for my club Yoikais "Game Night IV", it will be so much fun! I will play some Rock Band, random board games and GM a role playing game!

On Sunday it's a huge market in town which only happens once a year, and this year I'm actually going! Guess I'm gonna need some sleep after all haha!

So yeah, after a while smurfing if I should actually smurf this horrible abomination, I finally decided today to smurf the new Smurf movie. And what do you know, it was as smurf I thought it would be! So yet again a smurfing cartoon from my smurfdhood got freaking smurfed by Hollywood, thanx yet again you guys for making me want to travel back in time and smurf of myself so I would not be able to experience this life of smurfing remakes and reboots and new versions of smurf cartoons or comics!

So yeah, I had to Vlog about this. However it's pretty late here in Smurfland and Tomorrow I will do a all nighter, so I will only smurf the Swedish version today (It should be up by now). For all you smurfing takling people, I will smurf the english version on smurfday. It will have some added smurfing so it will be worth the smurf!

So yesterday I went to a local supermarket and bought some stuff cause I got some discount. Bought two new Blurays (Die Hard 2 and Blade Runner) and some food stuff. Saw that they had some discount on a milk drink called Cocio... yeah I remember the advertisement from TV and Cinemas about this one, I found it kinda funny that you almost says "Man's genitals YO!". Well I found the drink alright, but I prefer Oboy!

Now I have played trough Fallout New Vegas for the third time. I went with Ceasar's Legion this time and also got the Unarmed and Melee Weapon achievements. Well I got at least two playthroughs left before I have every achievement... except for that damned Hardcore mode, I don't think I have the patience to get that one.

Today I will upload the latest Vloggs about Dream Theater. It's 30 min (!) about med talking why I love the band, my favorite songs/albums etc and I also show you a part of my collection. Forgot to add the Offical Bootleg stuff but I might throw that in some other time!

Crap it's hot!

Talk about the heat has entered here in Sweden. We have had a low pressure over a week which meant that it was quite cold with a comfortable temperature. But now it has stopped taking summer vacation hehe.

A few brave souls have gotten the idea to check out my vlogs. I will make a new tomorrow I think. It will either act on the Final Fantasy series, or Dream Theater, and how any of them influenced me as a nerd.

Today we had a meeting in the club where we talked about this autumn's events. I'm very psyched for all the fun we will do! On Saturday it started with our Game Night IV. Has been off both yesterday and today to buy things for our cafe. We sell light food, sweets, cakes, snacks and soft drinks.

During the meeting we talked also about our upcoming convention Yoicon: 03. Our President (my sister) came up with the idea of maybe having two convention next year. One in the beginning of the year and one later. We have a problem among the events clubs here in Karlstad that everyone wants to put their events in the first half of the year. One solution is that first we have a convention at the beginning of the year, maybe in January and then one in late summer. If we have it in for example in August before school starts so we can then have the convention around that period upcoming years!

But this is just speculations right now, we haven't made any decissions about this yet. But I really like the idea about having two conventions next year. I really like being a head organizer and this would be a fun challange!

I have renewed energy about the club and I really think we have the conditions to make a great 2011 and an ever better 2012!

So now I have edited the last Vlog and will post them on my Youtube account later this evening. Man I really think I will start making Manuscript for at least my english videos. I really have to think what to say and that slows down the pace of the video quit a bit, I really got embarresed at some parts when I watched the english one.

So if people think it's way to much slow time, I will probably sound a lot better if I try following a manuscript for the time being. Maybe I will learn after a while to sound more narural when I speak English and talk smoother without breaks to think that long.

But im still exited about what people will think, I hope I get some more chances and people will watch more than the first Vlog. I also hope that in maybe a year I will look back at those first videos and realise how much better I've become. Maybe haha :D

It's back!

Yes in a euphoria or what the hell to call it so I revive this blog! As you might notice that ... I write in English? Have I got delusions of grandeur and wants to attract an international audience? Or do I just play tough?

Well, anyway this blog will as before be a journey of my geeky life. I will write about video games, role playing, board games, movies and music. This is a supplement to my Youtube channel where I will begin Vlog. Vlogs will contain some reviews and thoughts focused primarily on music but also some games and movies. I aim NOT to become a famous internet profile that Angry Video Game Nerd, Nostalgia Critic, Linkara or Spoony. They do their job superbly and I enjoy myself in their videos. No, I do this ... because I want to!

I can not say in the current situation how much it will be blogged. He who lives will see. Soon I will shoot the first vlog. Crazy nervous to talk in English but I will get great benefit and experience of this.

What's going on in the geeky life right now? Started just by playing Fallout New Vegas for the third time (Playthrough two happend just days ago), I'm too obsessed with the game. Becoming obsessed with the Achievement does not make things better.

Watched Cannibal Holocaust Yesterday and wow, that was some messed up movie alright. Can't say it was that shocking but some scenes where not that child friendly either. And all the animals was killed in real life, I understand the criticism the film has received.

I will visit the cinema tomorrow and Watch Captain America. Will probably blog about what I liked about the film.

I've been taking it easy on role-playing front during the summer except some occasional session here and there (Call of Cthulhu and the Swedish games Eon and Neotech). I had plans for a Dungeon and Dragons campaign, but I did not get it to match my summer plans. This fall, it will be Mutant again. Also has plans for a Star Wars campaign, just after the Legacy Have ended. Then I hope to also get to role play, not just DM.

So a little about music ... September will easily become the strongest musical month of this year. I mean, Dream Theater, Opeth and Pain of Salvation released discs in the same month? Also add Anthrax, Mastodon, and Redemption, and you realize how awesome September will be!

So the life is going forward at a faster rate now after a summer I will remember mostly being sick. But I had a awesome trip to London in June, saw Big Four (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax) and spend some good time with my club. So even if I was sick most of this summer, it was better than last summer!

Alright, now I have stuff to do! But I really hope that this time I will have the energy and creativity to keep this blog alive!

Jajjemensan, senaste tiden har jag varit relativt uppbokad med att jobba Yoicon:02. Insåg för tre veckor sedan att det fanns en hel del dokumentation som måste göras, som ska sättas upp på konventet eller ligga löst för besökarna att norpa åt sig. Just nu går den mesta tiden åt Yoicon, jag har suttit i timtal framför Laptopen för att jobba... och jag tycker det är så sjukt roligt! Synd att inte konventsplanering genererade i betald lön. Dock så får man ju något att lägga till på CV:t iaf!

Jag känner att jag halkat efter rejält i både tv-spel, filmtittande och annat nördigt. Det är egentligen bara anime jag ger mig tid att titta på. Har nu sett klart alla serier och filmer i Space Battleship Yamato, och WOW vad den franchisen äger! Riktigt bra handlingar, karaktärer, strider, teckningsstil, musik... ja tom den senaste filmen (2009, 26 år efter Final Yamoto filmen) Revival var riktigt bra, bland den snyggaste CGI jag sett i en anime hittills. Tydligen ska det kommer fler filmer, vilket glädjer mig!

Av de animeserier som går nu så tycker jag Belzeebub är riktigt skön, riktigt vrickad och rolig. Även kul att Kimi Ni Todoke är tillbaka, dock så känns det som storyn är precis lika seg som i den första serien... WHY GOD DAMMIT!

Mjah, det blir inte mkt mer än så för detta inlägg, jag kommer väl skriva av mina äventyr efter konventet härnäst!

Trettondagen är ju inte speciell...

Okej kanske sämsta titeln på ett inlägg hittills, men vafan, lev med det!

Nya året har börjat helt okej faktiskt. Jag har återupptagit skrivandet av min Mutant: Undergångens Arvtagare Kampanj jag ska börja spelleda i slutet av Februari. Jag har lite SL planer för 2011. Under våren blir det Mutant. I sommar ska jag dra igång lite Dungeons and Dragons, tror det blir något Forgotten Realms äventyr. I höst ska jag dra igång med en hemmasnickrad Star Wars kampanj som utspelar sig strax efter Star Wars Legacy. Känns så mkt lättare att dra igång i en era man själv kan leka runt i utan att fucka med kanon.

Rollspelen kommer ju såklart ske i Yoikais regi. Jag ska lägga ner mycket tid på föreningen i år, ja jag har i princip gjort slut med Ookami förutom att jag kommer sitta i arrangörsgruppen för Kamicon 11 och om det blir ett till Nissens Spelstuga.

Nissens var för övrigt ett riktigt mysigt och roligt rollspelskonvent. Jag kanske tom skall ansöka att bli huvudarrangör för det eventet, för jag har mina idéer om att göra om Nissens. Kanske ha det på sportlovet istället, döpa om det och även ha lite andra aktiviteter såsom SL kurs, försäljare och låta svenska rollspelstillverkare komma och prata/demonstrera sina produkter. Det finns planer iaf!

Inte långt kvar till Yoicon:02 nu heller. Blir ett arrangörsmöte på lördag den 15:e, samtidigt som Yoikai har sin Spelnatt II. Jag börjar känna mig lite smånervös men så ska det vara, mer är det pepp och förväntan på att det kommer bli ett mysigt konvent!

I går var man på en random träff på stan med folk som har japansk kultur som intresse. Vi var ca 15-16 pers som hängde runt på stan och tönta oss i några timmar, sen drog 10 pers upp till mig för mer flumm och Rock Band spelande. De flesta drog dock efter en timme pga bussar och annat. Men ja, det var en trevlig dag, något liknande skall göras redan den 29:e. Dock kommer föräldrarna på besök så man vet inte hur det blir med det. De ska ju trots allt köpa en ny säng åt mig!

2010 års sista inlägg

Gott nytt år på er! Hoppas 2011 ger oss nördar ett till bra år, för nörderi har mått riktigt bra i år vill jag då påstå!

Själv så spenderar jag nyår med lite festande i glada vänners lag, även om de jag helst skulle vilja ha här inte kan närvara vilket är lite tråkigt. Jaja man får göra det bästa utav situationen. Funderar på att efter tolvslaget sätta mig och se på en hemskt dåligt film som jag gjort de senaste två åren, man får en sån härlig "det kan inte bli värre än detta" känsla och att det bara kan bli bättre! Man har ju Twilight Eclipse med Rifftrax liggandes på datorn...

Vad tyckte jag om 2010? I sin helhet var det väl ett okej år, inte alls lika bra som 2009 som varit det bästa året i mitt liv, men 2010 har inte varit så dåligt som jag ibland vill få det till. Sure jag har haft två riktiga depperioder, flyttat ihop med en av de största dräggen jag stött på i hela mitt liv, bästa kompisen flyttar och sluta studierna var riktigt svåra saker.

Men det har varit en hel del kul saker som väger upp i slutändan. Kamicon:10, Närcon, Nissens Spelstuga, Outbreak, Yoicon:01. Yoikais aktiviteter, rollspel, bra tvspel, filmer, konserter, och mer!

Jag har aldrig löften för de bryter man så lätt. Istället tänker jag köra lite olika projekt, som jag kallar dem.

- Skaffa mig ett jobb. Vägen dit är lång och hård men jag ska definitivt lägga ner mer energi och intresse på detta, jag börjar bli smått rastlöst av att vara hemma hela dagarna. Ser tex praktik som en möjlighet.

- Försöka spela ut det mesta jag har i spelsamlingen innan jag köper nytt. Delvis kommer plånboken tacka mig, men jag börjar få ångest över en samling som växer men där jag inte hinner spela mycket.

- Komma upp i 1000 sedda animeserier/filmer/OVA. När jag når detta mål ska jag faktiskt ta en animepaus på obestämd tid. Just nu har jag 842 sedda.

- Skapa mig en LP samling igen. Har fått tillbaka LP suget så nu ska jag bygga upp en samling igen då jag sålde min förra för ett par år sen.

- Lägga ner mer tid på föreningen Yoikai. Det finns massor av visioner, bara jag finner tid med jobb och övriga intressen.

- Jag kan väl slänga med en liten "äta mindre onyttigt", även om det brukar bli som det blir. Dock ska jag verkligen försöka se det positiva i att ekonomin blir större om man minskar på det onyttiga.

Nåväl, åter igen gott nytt år!

Tredje Advent

Phew, jag höll på att komma ihåg att skriva i bloggen igår, kan ju inte bryta min tradition att skriva adventsinläggen dagen efter!

Sitter nu i Stockholm hos mina föräldrar denna vackra men iskalla Luciadag. Blir minijulbord och luciafika senare idag, mums! Igår var det adventsmiddag med Oxfilé, hasselbackspotatis och Black and White såser och Marängswiss till efterrätt! Man känner sig liiite bortskämd, men det ska man känna sig ibland!

Blev även lite paket eftersom jag ej är hemma över julen. Fick bland annat 1000 kr som oavkortat kommer gå till julklappsinköp till mig själv för en gångs skull, 250 kr presentkort på SF bio vilket verkligen uppskattas att ha till nästa års biobesök och det enda jag egentligen önskat mig var en ny sängmadrass vilket jag kommer få när föräldrarna kommer på besök i Januari.

En annan positiv sak nu i juletider är att man kan få tag på livets dryck, nämligen Zeunerts julmust! Denna gåva till oss dödliga finns dock inte att få tag på i kättar-Karlstad, vad har vi gjort för att förtjäna detta? Kan endast få tag på det på ICA Maxi Norsborg, vilket är synd. Blir att importera några flaskor att ha över julen.

När jag även är här skall jag äntligen sätta mig med Yoikais bokföring, kan inte bara ha semester. Jag diskuterade en del bokföring med min far som nu är ansvarig för det på Jiwes, och jag fick en del nya perspektiv jag skall tänka på. Men det gör det inte mindre drygt att jobba med det hehe.

För omväxlings skull satt man och tittade på TV film i fredags, jag sitter som bekant aldrig vid TV då jag är fruktansvärt trött på alla reklamavbrott och att man måste planera in när man vill se saker och ting. I dagens nedladdningssamhälle har man väl blivit lite bekväm av sig att kunna se filmer och serier när man vill. Såg bla Mel Brooks underbara Det våras för världshistorien!

Sista konserten för i år blev The 7 Sinners World Tour i lördags med Avatar, Stratovarius och Helloween.

Avatar var... meh, bara en okej låt.

Stratovarius hade man redan sett en gång i år och de spelade kortare setlist och flera av låtarna hade man redan hört, fast det var nice att höra Kiss of Judas och Phoenix igen. Legions var nice att höra live, men tyckte de kunde spelat nån annan låt från kommande skivan då Darkest Hours inte är så spännande.

Så till Helloween som var riktigt kickass, väldigt bra liveband måste jag säga. Fullt ös var det och min kropp var mörbultad efter hoppande och skrikande (när jag inte filmade ofc). Bäst var Keeper medley, hade ifos nöjt mig med bara Keeper of the Seven Keys jag :P

Andra Advent

... en dag för sent igen! Gårdagens adventsfika spenderades tillsammans med Yoikais styrelse, då vi hade styrelsemöte. Yoikai fick stå för fikat denna gång, bakslaget är att det är jag själv som måste bokföra det hela.

Helgen spenderades med LAN och film, vilket var väldigt trevligt. Var rätt vass på fredagen och kom först varje gång i Unreal Tournament, Half-Life 1 och Medal of Honor Allied Assault. Sen på lördagen gick det inge vidare, jag skyller på byte av plats och sitta vid andras datorer! Märker verkligen att LAN är uppskattat och eftertraktat, så räkna med att Yoikai kommer arrangera fler LAN i framtiden!

Själva filmdelen var väl sådär, ibland gick det två filmer utan att någon tittade. Enda filmen jag själv såg var den italienskt dubbade Zombie Self Defense Force från Japan, väldigt underhållande parodi!

På fredag blir det av till Stockholm för tidigt julfirande (ej där över jul), Helloweenkonsert och fixa sponsorpriser till Yoicon:02! Får väl se hur mkt försenad man blir, tågresor med SJ blir alltid spännande på vintern!

Första Advent

... en dag för sent. Damn jag som försökte hålla min "årliga" tradition. Nåväl, första advent spenderades med mysfika och lyxfällan hos syster min. Inte så juligt att äta vaniljmunkar men vafan, fika som fika!

Idag var det ett långt Yoicon:02 möte med betoning på.. det mesta. Skönt att få mycket jobb ur vägen och att saker faller på plats. Har fått riktigt sug efter konventet och längtar verkligen till det! Angående konvent så kommer Yoikai promota föreningen på Rencon i Falun 25-27 Februari!

Lördagen spenderades med ett improviserat LAN på Sverok Svealands kansli i Yoikais regi. Trots tekniska problem och fulla idioter som skulle gå förbi och peka/skratta så var det en kul dag i fragandets tecken. Vi spelade Quake II, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Black Hawk Down, Half Life 1 och Rune. Gick rätt bra i de två sista spelen!

Mer LAN blir det till helgen då Yoikai arrangerar skräckfilm och LAN helgen Ojike Yoru. Kommer bli nice att sitta och nöra LAN en hel helg, det har jag aldrig gjort förut. Närmaste man kommit var ett nattgibb på ett internetcafé i Stockholm.

Annars har jag faktiskt spelat väldigt lite spel på sistone, vilket känns både pros och cons. Har inte riktigt något intresse att sätta mig in i något just nu. Är ifos sugen på att köra nya Call of Duty Black Ops eftersom single player kampanjen för en gång skull verkar intressant, samt att det är rätt gory på sina håll.

Men samtidigt så har jag lagt en del tid på animetittande. Just nu rullar shojoserien Nana och fantasyserien Tears to Tiara. ToT är tydligen baserat på ett PS3 spel , som är en remake av ett Eroge till PC. Man blir ju lite intresserad av att testa spelet i framtiden... till PC då (finns translation).

Väntar på pengar så jag kan köpa de sista julklapparna... sen blir det lite presenter till mig med! I år kommer jag spendera dem på upplevelser. Skall köpa konsertbiljett till Rush och Iron Maiden nästa år. Rush blir det för första gången, åh att få höra hela Moving Pictures plattna live! Iron Maiden såg man förra gången de var här, men jag är intresserad av att höra deras nyare låtar live!

Så det var allt för denna gång... ja!

Det börjar väl bli dags nu...

... att irritera sig på snö, halka och kyla fram till mars-april nästa år. Nåja man får ju anledningar att stanna inne och spela istället, blir dock lite drygt när man ska iväg på saker och ting som är nörd-relaterat.

Förra helgen var det Spelnatt med Yoikai. Under hela natten spelade vi TV-spel, Brädspel och kortspel. Roligast var dock Magnus som tog med sig några laptops så körde vi LAN. Nu spelade vi bara Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Age of Empires II och Heroes 3, men det var ett riktigt kul initiativ. Jag och Magnus kommer utveckla idéen under 2011. Tanken är att vi ska promota föreningen på andra konvent/event med att sätta upp några laptops för LAN.

3-5 December blir det LAN och Filmhelg, vi slog ihop två event så det blir lite crazy. Men jag ser fram emot det, har redan fixat hem ett par gamla godingar som Half-Life 1, Quake II och F.E.A.R. Sen får man väl ta sig en paus för lite skräckfilm från Asien!

Yoikai vs Dreamhack... mjaaaa

Angående Yoikai så har vi valt att lägga årsmötet 2011 under Yoicon:02. Det blir den 6:e Februari kl 13 på Studiefrämjandet i Karlstad. Igår hade jag ett möte med Sverok Svealand, det första sedan i Juli. Vi har varit EXTREMT inaktiva i arbetet, något som måste skärpas. Vi ändrade årsmötet för Svealand till 12:e Februari, det kommer antagligen bli på Studiefrämjandet i Karlstad då det varit på Playstar i Örebro två gånger nu.

Intressant nog så finns det intresse att nominera mig till ordförande för Svealand. Jag känner mig intresserad av posten, men isåfall måste jag läsa på mer om distriktet och vilka krav som ställs på mig som ordförande. Inte helt säker, men kanske! Har lite tid på mig att fundera!

Snart har jag sett halva Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) tv-serien. Åh den är så manlig, och jag har inte tröttnat än på attackerna, handlingen eller karaktärerna. Dock så är det tråkigt att den är så censurerad och att den återanvänder gamla klipp ständigt. Hade den varit lite blodig som filmen så hade det blivit 10/10 utan tvekan!

I fredags hade jag en liten Batmanfilmkväll. Det blev Tim Burtons två rullar Batman och Batman Returns som jag inte sett på några år. Jag gillar hur filmerna skiljer sig rätt rejält i stil och handling. Det är ju lite Silver Age över handlingarna, men båda filmerna är mörka och dystopiska. Och man kan ju inte annat än jämföra med de mer realistiska Nolanfilmerna, som står sig lite bättre. Men de gamla sparkar också rumpa!

And yet again...

...så tar det aslång tid innan jag skriver något i bloggen. Det är inte så att jag har brist på saker att skriva om, men jag segar som fan. Nåja nu ska jag skriva lite så ni blir nöjda!

I helgen var jag med och arrangerade Outbreak III: The Graveyard Shift. Då huvudarrangören insjuknade så blev arrangörsgruppen tvungna att rädda eventet, vilket de gjorde. Kastade mig själv in i gruppen torsdagen (!) innan eventet och fick betydligt mer arbetsuppgifter än vad som tidigare var tänkt. Men det gjorde inget, att kunna rädda ett event och en förenings anseende var viktigare än personlig vinning.

Årets tema för skräckfilmerna var iaf "wierd och uselt". Först såg vi George Romeros nya Survival of the Dead. Den var pytelite bättre än Land of the Dead, men filmen hade fruktansvärda skådisar och CGI effekter. Nej tacka vetja Diary of the Dead, den var faktiskt bra!

Sedan blev det The Signal, som visade sig icke vara en zombiefilm. En signal som sänds ut i en storstad gör folk helt galna och de kan döda en för minsta felsägning eller dåliga skämt. Filmen var rätt osamanhängande och i slutet satt man som ett levande frågetecken. Ändå den bästa filmen under kvällen.

Så blev det sist Day of the Dead: The beginning, som inte har NÅGOT med orginalet att göra. Hela filmens story var OTROLIGT fånig, effekterna var uselt gjorda och zombisarna är bland det sämsta jag sett. Inte ens så dålig att det blir bra, utan bara skitkass!

Roligast under natten var iaf att driva café Vandöd med Magnus och Robin, vi hade det riktigt trevligt. Timmarna flöt på otroligt fort iaf. Jag vill tacka alla som dök upp och gjorde en riktigt trevlig kväll, och stort tack till arrangörsgruppen som faktiskt räddade eventet!

"Ja men för fan, även zombies måste ju äta!"

Tyvärr lämnade vissa saker en viss bitter eftersmak, jag är starkt skeptisk till att fortsätta arrangera saker inom Ookami. Som det ser ut nu så kommer Nissens Spelstuga blir det sista jag tänker bidra med. Jag kommer nog i slutet av December att skriva ett mer detaljerat inlägg om hur jag känner kring detta.

Nu har jag äntligen spelat ut Fable 3! Måste säga att spelet var bättre än 2an, jag gillade tanken att styra en revolution och sedan bli kung under spelets sista del. Kungadelen var klart roligast och man önskade att den höll längre. Känner att spelat har många fler timmar att ge än vad jag hade ork att investera denna gång, en omspelning som ond prinsessa hägrar!

Har påbörjar Suikoden serien igen efter att ha lyssnat igenom samtliga soundtracks. Denna gång började jag i kronologisk ordning efter spelets timeline (dvs IV, Tactics, V, I, III, III) och inte efter när de släpps. Körde igenom del IV och klarade det på 3 dar med massa extrasaker gjorda. Nu sparade jag en sparfil med clear save så jag kan lättare levla upp karaktärerna till 99 och tjäna massa pengar redan i början av spelet!

Och nu har jag börjat spela Suikoden Tactics, tyckte spelet var för bök när jag testade på det senast, men när man väl sätter sig in i systemet så blir det faktiskt rätt kul. Och att få träffa på gamla karaktärer från IV och fläskar på storyn är inte helt fel. Synd bara att vissa strider känns så förbaskat obalanserade, ibland måste man ha tur för att vinna!

Så tänkte jag skriva lite om musik faktiskt. Jag har ändrar om lite i min favoritlista över artister (jepp en sån har jag som äkta listoman), och nu försöker jag skrobbla så mkt som möjligt av dem på Last.fm. Det blir många tusen låtar att spela för att kunna ändra på listan där, men vafan det är bra musik som är värd att lyssna på många gånger! Numreringen kan man ta med en nypa salt, många artister kan jag inte sätta ett nummer på hur mkt mer jag gillar dem än de andra, så mkt lättare att göra lista i program dock!

Har börjat glo på lite äldra animeserier igen, och det är alltid uppskattat! Hokuto no Ken har jag länge velat se och gav serien sin chans nyligen, och ja manligare serie finns knappast. Manstårar har aldrig varit manligare och kommer aldrig bli. Om den inte vore så censurerad som den var så hade detta kunna blivit en favoritserie!

Glor även på Gundam X, den och G Gundam är de av orginalserierna jag ej sätt. Gundam X, eller After War som den även kallas är en rätt trevlig postapokalyptisk serie som inte skådats inom Gundamvärlden tidigare. Den är mycket mer down to earth (höhö) än vad de andra serierna är då den utspelar sig på jorden och inte ute i rymden. Både huvudpersonerna och skurkarna känns mer mänskliga om än att det även finns Newtypes, som exploateras mer i Gundam X än i UC serierna.

GX Gundamuuuuuuuu

Angående Gundam så kom Gundam Unicorn avsnitt två ut nyligen. Väldigt bra måste jag säga, och att Full Frontal (en klon av Char från de första serierna) röst görs av samma röstskådespelare som Char var en riktigt positiv överraskning! Nästa del kommer i Mars och seriens sista del (6) kommer släppas i November 2012, den som längtar efter något gott...

Och det är allt för mig denna gång. Imorgon lördag är det Spelnatt med Yoikai från klockan 12-12 på söndagen. Är taggad som fan!

Fallout: New Vegas recension

Många var skeptiska när Fallout 3 släpptes 2008, många såg med misstänksamma ögon på tillverkarna Obsidian och deras riktning på spelet. Man talade om ”Oblivion with guns” som ett skällsord. Dock så visade sig spelet vara betydligt djupare och ha tillräckligt med content för att främja nybörjare såväl som hardcore Fallout nördar (även om vissa aldrig kommer acceptera övergången till de tre dimensionerna och FPS-vyn).

Nu två år senare släpps uppföljaren New Vegas. Folk från 1an och 2ans utvecklingsteam finns bakom rodret och spelserien hamnar åter igen på västkusten, denna gång i Las Vegas området. Du spelar en namnlös budbärare som blir skjuten i huvudet av en sliskig kostymtyp. En doktor syr ihop skallen och nu blir det att ta reda på vart mannen tagit vägen, och få svar på vad som fanns i det du fraktade.

New Vegas området känns än större än Washingtons ruiner och närliggande område, och betydligt mer varierande. Vi har kasinostaden New Vegas, mindre samhällen, undangömda militärbaser, gruvor, ett fängelse och mycket mer att utforska denna gång. Världen är betydligt mer befolkad och känns mer levande än i 3an.

Istället för att mainquesten kommer ta dig direkt mellan olika punkter för en final du inte har mycket påverkan på förutom i sista stund, så har New Vegas betydligt större utbud på att kunna påverka finalen i spelet. Du kommer under spelets gång träffa många olika fraktioner, där New California Republic och deras ärkefiender The Legion är de största. Det finns ytterligare ett antal andra fraktioner man kan alliera sig med eller göra till fiender, vilket kommer påverka ditt slut. Att du inte kan vara vän med alla gör att omspelningsvärdet blir stort, speciellt då fraktionsbundna questar ej går att genomföra ifall du blir fiender med en fraktion.

Angående questar så finns det betydligt fler av dem i New Vegas. Många är budna till de olika fraktionerna, och vissa binds ihop i mainstoryn. Man kan spendera timmar och åter timmar på att göra questar åt en mindre fraktion för att en av de större vill ha dem som allierade. Själv så spenderade jag 30 timmar med spelet första genomspelningen och jag hade en hel del kvar att göra. Questarna ger oftast EXP, vilket tar bort mycket av den grinding man fick utstå för att ta sig till lvl 20 (senare 30 i expansionerna) i 3an. Levelcapet var på 30 denna gång, själv kom jag upp i 26 när sluttexterna rullade.

Stridssystemet är sig likt från del 3, inte mycket nyheter här. Däremot har man gjort det lättare att ge ordet åt sina kompanjoner vilket uppskattas. Mer vapen och förmågan att kunna modifiera dem med uppgraderingar och olika ammunitionstyper gör att man adderat lite djup ändå. Spelet känns lite mer balanserat denna gång, man känner sig aldrig lika övermäktig som man gjorde på de högre levels i 3an.

Ska jag klaga på något så är det väl att grafikmotorn känns utdaterad 2010, och det finns en hel del buggar där karaktärer och djur fastnar i marken. Upplevde även flera gånger spelet stannade och jag fick starta om 360:t.

Nu känns det som att Fallout New Vegas kommer bli årets spel 2010. Inte sedan Red Dead Redemption har jag spenderat så mkt tid med ett spel under en kortare period, jag hade svårt att lägga mig ifrån kontrollen och sluta spela. New Vegas känns än mer som en god uppföljare till serien än vad del 3 gjorde.

Höstfilmer och ond bråd död

Snacka om att söndagens Eonsession slutade lite anti-klimax. En karaktär, en demondvärg vid namn Derch som vunnit mot bergstroll och Grendels själv, föll offer för en pil i skallen av en mesig lagervakt. När slumpen bestämmer så kan det bli som det blir. Ingen i gruppen trodde att han skulle dö, och inte på detta nästan patetiska sättet. Det är det jag älskar med rollspel, man kan aldrig vara säker och slumpen sätter gärna in för att ta död på dig när du minst anar det!

Ta även förra Star Wars sessionen som exempel, då vi i vår första rymdstrid har 10 HP kvar på vårat skepp, i princip ett skott till hade avslutat äventyret. Då introducerar SL destiny points som ingen tänkt på innan, och tada så critiar vi våra skott och spränger fiendeskeppen. Det var en svettig historia och jag trodde allvarligt att kampanjen var slut där. Jag är väl inte helt nöjd med vart äventyret är på väg nu, jag orkar inte riktigt spela lakej till en annan spelare.

Nog om slump och döden, nu blir det dags att prata lite om filmer! Jag var lite ful förra veckan och tankade hem några rullar som inte gått i Karlstad eller antagligen inte kommer göra det. Jag måste säga att de tre filmerna jag såg alla var intressanta på sitt sätt, så här kommer lite tankar kring dem:

Machete:

Trailern som blev film, inte som det tvärtom brukar vara! Machete trailern visades innan Grindhouserullen Planet Terror, och jag tror inte jag var ensam att vilja se hela filmen, det hintades om i tre år att filmen var under produktion och jag tappade hoppet flera gånger. Men så blev den äntligen färdig, och slutresultatet var väl inte riktigt som jag väntade, men fortfarande riktigt nedra bra!

Machete var tidigare FBI agent innan en knarkkung (som spelas av Steven Segall, hell yeah!) mördar hans familj och han tvingas fly Mexico till Texas. Där träffar han på den ena intressanta figuren efter den andre, och snart är vi i en soppa till knarkkomplott, mördande av senatorer och blodig hämd. Storyn är knappast djup men för faktiskt filmen framåt mellan actionscenerna, som inte är riktigt lika många man väntat sig. Men ack så är de underhållande och våldsamma precis som man förväntat sig av Rodriguez.

Danny Trejo får äntligen sin första huvudroll som Machete, och han leverar som sig bör. Segall är med lite men man njuter att se honom, vi har Robert Deniro som korruppt senator, Jessica Alba är en FBI agent och för första gången stör man sig inte på Lindsey Lohan i en film. Hennes roll som "The Sister" kunde gärna ha utvecklats lite mer för jag trodde på konceptet.

Machete är en riktigt underhållande actionrulle, precis som trailer visade för tre år sedan. Med en riktigt bra skådespelaresemble och en tillräckligt stark handling så har vi här en av mina favoritfilmer i år!

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Scott Pilgrim vs The World är en underground hit comic jag inte hade hört talas om innan jag började läsa om filmen. Scott är en töntig looser som spelar bas i ett band, och kan inte släppa hans ex som flyttade för ett år sedan. Han spenderar lite tid med en high school tjej tills han på en fest träffar Ramona, tjejen i hans drömmar. De börjar dejta, vilket resulterar i att Scott måste besegra hennes sju "elaka ex".

Handlingen är smått bizzar, och det kan man även säga om filmens karaktärer och bildspråk. Exen Scott möter är alla intressanta karaktärer, och fightscenerna är välgjorda och fyllda med snygga effekter. Man har verkligen skapat en comic känsla som fungerar riktigt bra, och även en hel del tv-spels och och populärkulturreferenser haglar.

Jag har nu börjat läst comicen, och av det jag läst så är filmen väldigt troget orginalet, väldigt få detaljer som tex hur vissa karaktärer träffas är den enda som lämnats ute. Så det finns faktiskt inget att egentligen klaga på när det gäller Scott Pilgrim vs The World. En väldigt underhållande film som både har snygga actionscener och riktigt bra humor.

Red

Om Scott Pilgrim vs The World är en trogen återgivning av orginalcomicen, så är Red precis tvärtom. Endast vissa karaktärer och delar av huvudplotten är hämtade ur comicen, resten är nyskrivet.

Bruce Willis spelar Frank Moss, en pensionerad CIA agent. Han spenderar stor del med att prata med Sarah över telefon. Moss blir en natt överfallen av beväpnade agenter med order att döda. Han tar ut dem, och reser genast till Kansas City för att skydda Sarah från de som vill ta hans liv. Det blir en resa genom USA för att samla ihop Moss:s gamla gäng och ta reda på varför de är eftersökta.

Red comicen är rätt våldsam, tyvärr har PG-13 ratingen förstört en del av våldet som gjorde serien underhållande. Man har istället försökt kompensera med humor, som fungerar faktiskt till stor del. Moss:s gamla gäng är ett gäng sköna gubbar och tanter som känns sympatiska trots deras bakgrunder. Och tro inte att actionen är dålig för det, det finns en del scener att gotta sig i!

Kanske inte en trovärdig adaption , men istället skapar sig Red som film ett eget namn.

Och det var det om film. I spelvärden så har jag börjat spela Assasin's Creed II, det tog sin tid. Tycker det hittills är bättre än 1an på i princip alla plan. Har även plöjt igenom Fallout New Vegas, en recension om spelet kommer upp eventuellt imorn på bloggen!

Höstens anime

Ni är säkert väldigt nyfikna på vilka animeserier jag har börjat tittat på under höstsäsongen, samt vilka fler jag kommer se när de har premiär. Här kommer en liten kort presentation av serierna och vad jag tycker om dem hittills/vad jag tror jag kommer tycka.

Pågående:

Bakuman

Två klasskamrater upptäcker deras passion för manga. Den ene är en duktig tecknare vars farbror var en framgångsrik tecknare innan sin död. Han blir övertygad av den andre att börja, som sporre lovar sig serien love-intrest att gifta sig med honom ifall de båda lyckas med sina framtidsplaner (hon tänker bli röstskådespelare).

Bakuman har en intressant premiss, och jag gillar det jag sett. Humor blandad med lite slice of life och drama. Kan bli en höstfavorit!

Iron Man

Tony Stark drar till Japan för att arbeta med nytt försvarssystem. Dock visar sig en terroristorganisation vid namn Zodiac vilja sabotera för Stark, vilket gör att hans tidigare tänkta plan att pensionera sig som Iron Man går i stöpet.

Iron Man som anime har hittills fungerat sådär. Settingen i Japan känns annorlunda och jag tycker de tagit rätt bra vara på karaktären Stark. Men handlingen känns knappast speciellt orginell eller spännande.

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai

Kyousuke har alltid haft en kylig relation till sin syster Kirino. Men så en dag finner han ett animefodral i hallen, som innehåller ett eroge-spel. Han listar ut att det är Kirinos och konfonterar sin "perfekta" syster med en modelkarriär. Kyousuke börjar hjälpa henne med att försöka förstå sig på hennes hobby och varför hon brinner så för den.

Ore no Imouto har hittills varit en väldigt underhållande och nördig serie, man känner igen sig i flera situationer. Att karaktären Kirino känns lite malplacerad får man väl acceptera. Känns på förhand som en av höstens favoriter.

Psychic Detective Yakumo

Den unge Yakumo besitter förmågan att kunna se och kommunicera med de döda, något han använder sig av för att lösa brott.

Serien känns som Death Note light, jag är inte övertygad att denna är värd att följa än. Har dock bara sett ett avsnitt men det var ingen höjdare, vi får väl se om det kommer något intressant.

Togainu no Chi

Efter tredje världskriget har ett kriminellt gäng tagit över spillorna av Tokyo. De annordnar tävlingen Igura, som huvudpersonen Akira i princip tvingas delta i för att överleva.

Serien har en del nice actionelement. Tydligen baserad på ett BL-spel, men shonen-ai elementen har inte varit så framträdande än.

Yosuga no Sora

Tvillingarna Haruka och Sora återvänder till sin barndomsby efter år i storstaden då föräldrarna omkommit i en olycka. De bor i sin farfars hem och börjar gå i den lokala skolan. Haruka skaffar sig snabbt vänner medan Sora har svårt att anpassa sig. Snart börjar dock gamla minnen återvända, och alla är inte trevliga...

Redan under första delen uppstår det onani, nakenhet och nästan incestförsök. Serien är verkligen mer rakt på sak än de flesta liknande serier jag sett, vilket jag faktiskt gillar. Även om serien räknas som harem verkar den just nu fokusera på vissa karaktärer vilket jag även gillar.

Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge

Arakawa Under the Bridge är tillbaka med nya avsnitt. Lika tokiga fasoner som förut under Arakawabron där de boende är mer eller mindre störda i huvudet. Förutom Kou.. jag menar Recruit som får tampas med nya galenheter tillsammans med sin flickvän Nino.

Första säsongen var precis lagom galen i min smak, alltid fanns det något att skratta om, och karaktärsgalleriet är om något speciellet. Av det jag sett hittills så har serien precis samma humor och kapiteluppdelning som förgående säsong, så räkna med nya plotter mitt i en del!

To aru Majutsu no Index II

ÄNTLIGEN kommer andra säsongen av en av mina favoritserier från 2009. Andra säsongen verkar gå djupare på hur kyrkan försöker lokalisera Index, samtidigt som kyrkans fiender börjar visa sig. Även fler karaktärer lär bli introducerade.

Av de två avsnitt så kan jag konstatera att det känns precis som första säsongen, striderna, karaktärerna och humor är precis som förut vilket jag är nöjd med. Vi får väl se vart plotten leder, jag har stora förväntingar!

Kommande:

Otome Youkai Zakuro

Utspelar sig under Meji-eran, där människor och demoner lever sida vid sida. Regeringen har skapat ett departement, Youjinsha, där människor och demoner samarbetar för att uppehålla freden.

Jag brukar vara stark skeptisk till såna här serier, övernaturligheter i vår värld brukar oftast bli väldigt platta och generiska. Vi får väl se efter några avsnitt om serien är värd att se vidare på.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun OVA

Jag gillar To Aru no Index, men spinoffen Railgun kändes betydligt löjligare, mer parodi på konceptet som inte kändes bra. Nu kommer ett OVA avsnitt, som jag på förhand är skeptisk till. Men en OVA ska man väl alltid orka sig igenom.

Koe de Oshigoto! The Animation

Som jag förstått det så handlar denna OVA om en tjej som börjar jobba inom röstskådespelarbranschen, med den kanske inte allt för glorifierade inriktningen på hentai. Kan innehålla en hel del roliga scener.

Megane no Kanojo

Fyra tjejer gömmer sig bakom sina glasögon, kan de hitta kärlek? Rätt fånig premiss men kan bli en mysig slice-of life OVA.

De bästa stridslåtarna i spel

Fick för mig häromdagen att kompilera ihop en lista med mina favoritstridslåtar från data/tv-spel. Jag har valt ut ett antal jag tycker representerar mina favorit ur ett brett spektrum. Delvis så är listan ej rangordnad då jag kan tycka att många av låtarna skulle ligga på samma nivå. Håller mig även till en stridslåt per spelserie!

Detta gäller musik för "vanlig" strid, dvs ej bossar och slutbossar (det kommer, oroa er inte!). Sen kan jag ju även spotta ur mig massa lovord om låtarna, men jag tror jag kommer säga så lika om många låtar att jag kommer ha svårt att vara kreativ. So let the music do the talkning!

Även Suikoden serien (bortsett från III) var svår att peka ut den bästa, men Suikoden II vinner med smal marginal över V.

Killer of time...

Jajjemen, så har man äntligen spelat Civilization V. Har spelat sönder del IV till döddagar, så hur står sig del V i kontrast med IV?

Man har istället för att totalt förnya istället förfinat ett del aspekter från IV, givetvis så är grafiken uppdaterad med ny motor som klarar snygg Direct X11 grafik. Jag måste även säga att soundtracket är mer varierande och spännande denna gång!

Det är samma gamla visa, skapa en civilisation som kommer stå tidens tand och regera över världen, om du gör det via att lägga alla andra civilisationer under dig i krigsföring, vinna valet i FN eller skapa mest underverk är helt upp till dig. Själv föredrar jag att via krigsmakt ta över mina motståndare, men att spela de andra spelsätten är även det underhållande. Nytt denna gång är att man inte kan ställa mer än en enhet per hexagon (ej cirklar denna gång), vilket gör striderna mer taktiska än att bara ställa 100 av samma enhet på samma område och rusha igenom fiendens arméer.

Så vad finns det mer för nyheter? Tex så finns det inga religioner denna gång, utan istället har man olika politiska uppfattningar som man väljer att få uppgraderingar utav. Tech trädet från IV är rätt sig likt i del V, med lite nya enheter, byggnader och underverk (som byggs på samma sätt som innan). Det finns stadstater som inte försöker vinna spelet, du kan välja att alliera dig med dem för att få lite enheter och hjälp i krig, eller ta över dem för extra städer. Och något jag verkligen gillar är att städerna nu kan försvara sig själva utan att behöva skyddas av enheter!

Downsides? Något jag direkt saknade var tillgången till world builder. Det var väldigt underhållande i IV att kunna när som helst modifiera kartan, skapa nya landmassor och sådant. Jag tycker även att spelet känns segare och tar längre tid i allmänhet att spela, men det kan vara för att jag än ej lärt mig spelet till 100% som jag gjort med IV. Jag har nu enbart hunnit att spela igenom en omgång som tog mig två dagar (inte 24/7 då) att spela.

I slutändan så känns del V som en solid titel och arvtagare till IV.. som dock står sig fortfarande som min favorit i serien!

På torsdag kommer Final Fantasy XIV att döda min tid under hela Oktober, trevlig trevligt!

Jag fick äntligen för mig för en vecka sedan att börja glo på Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Det var ett par år sedan man såg den första animen, som rätt snabbt får en egen handling som inte håller till mangan (faktiskt på mangaförfattarens vädjan). Brotherhood är magan i animeform, och även om jag gillar den gamla serien så måste jag säga att Brotherhood klår den!

För det första så snärjer den första serien in sig i ett par plottholes och blir lätt flummig på sina håll då de måste förklara sig på ett annat sätt än mangan. Mangan har en betydligt lättare handling att förstå, men inte mindre djup för det. Speciellt Homonculus plotten är betydligt bättre skriven och utförd i mangan/Brotherhood tack vare huvudskurken "Father".

Övriga karaktärer, både de man känner igen från första serien och nya från mangan har en bättre plats i världen och bidrar till en bättre logik. Visserligen måste jag medge att vissa karaktärer faktiskt hade en betydligt större påverkan i den första serien, tex Izumi och Rose som man rent av kände sympati för då deras öden blev så mycket sorligare i den serien.

Sen har även Brotherhood bättre budget vilket presenteras i snyggare strider, specialeffekter och framför allt musiken. Jag minns att den första serien hade ett rätt repetitiv soundtrack.

Så ja, har ni inte sätt Brotherhood och gillade den första serien så har ni ingen ursäkt att inte se den! Det planeras även en film i framtiden, ska bli spännande att se vad de kommer hitta på för Ed och Al!

När vi ändå är inne på film, jag blev glatt överraskad att två filmer jag sett fram emot kommer på svensk bio. Först har vi "fejktrailern som blev film" Machete som kommer den 15 Oktober. 29 Oktober kommer comicbaserade Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Jag hoppas även på att comicbaserade Red med Bruce Willis hittar hit, men det lär den göra!

3D

I fredags hade jag min första erfarenhet utav 3D film, nämligen Resident Evil: Afterlife på bio. När man väl vande sig vid att ha "glasögon på glasögon" så insåg man en del intressanta användingsområden för 3D. Jag kan väl inte säga att jag tog till mig budskapet mer under reklam, eller tycket filmen i sig använde sig utav 3D på ett bra sätt, men det var ändå en intressant upplevelse.

Filmen då? Mjah, den var bättre än del 3, men inte i samma klass som de två första. Just användandet utav 3D i filmen kändes sparsmakat och inget var direkt häpnandsväckande, även om det stundvis var lite coolt med grus som flyger och kulor som viner. Handlingen kanske är den svagaste ändå i serien, det är en kamp mot Wesker (som äntligen fått den skärmtid han förtjänar... om än lite ändå) och lite nya typer av zombies. Actionscenerna var riktigt välgjorda, det var filmens stora behållning.

När vi ändå är inne på film så kan jag ju berätta att Yoikai hade sin filmnatt nu natten mellan lördag-söndag. Vi såg på en shitload med anime (film som serier) och några östasiatiska filmer. Trots lite lågt antal deltagare så var det ändå ett koncept jag tänker köra igen. Härnäst planerar jag en Lovecraftinspirerad filmnatt!

Nej men se där, bloggen har fyllt 1 år

Oj oj oj, grattis till... mig själv och bloggen måste jag då säga! Att det gått över ett år sedan jag skapade denna blogg och att den fortfarande lever kvar måste ses som ett mirakel från min sida, jag som alltid varit rätt anti mot bloggande. Men det är ibland skönt att skriva av sig, och jag har fokuserat bloggen på att beskriva min nördiga vardag vilket jag finner både nyttigt och roligt att göra.

Framtidsvisioner för bloggen? Mjah, det blir väl att fortsätta skriva om vad jag har för mig. Räkna med att Oktober kommer nog bli rätt tom iom Final Fantasy XIV spelande där jag lär skriva ner vad jag har haft för mig. Men det kommer inte bli någon regelrätt karaktärsblogg inte, nej usch!

Kommer nog komma fler listor framöver. Jag fick en idé att göra en "topp tio bästa bosslåtarna i tv-spel" lista nyligen som jag ska sätta mig ner med snart och göra. Snart kommer det bli en HP Lovecraft filmkväll, och varför då inte lista tio coolaste gudarna eller de bästa filmerna baserade på Cthulhu Mythos?
